Explore hands-on exhibits about weather, climate, the Sun, the atmosphere, and art-science connections in this famous I.M. Pei-designed building. Other options: a wheelchair-accessible outdoor weather trail, guided tours for the public at noon on Monday/Wednesday/Friday except holidays, and a Guide-By-Cell audio tour (using your phone). Free admission, open 363 days a year. Hours: M-F 8am-5pm; Weekends & holidays 9am-4pm. Thank you for your review! The free tours are a great way to make the most of your visit, and are offered MWF at noon. The cafeteria you mentioned is open every weekday. We're glad you enjoyed your visit!

Neat building and exhibits. My 11-year-old was fascinated by the cloud machine. The interpretive trail is scenic and informative, too.

The buildings themselves are beautiful up against the Boulder flat irons. We arrived in late afternoon so missed a tour. We were about the only visitors which was nice. Admission is free. Learn about the weather and climate from the exhibits. Very interesting hands on...More

I took the one hour tour at NCAR. The guide was very good explaining the mission and history. Lots of hands on displays. The different areas are presented on an 8th grade level but we saw several school groups of younger children. This private university...More
