I took the one hour tour at NCAR. The guide was very good explaining the mission and history. Lots of hands on displays. The different areas are presented on an 8th grade level but we saw several school groups of younger children. This private university...More

My kids loved visiting NCAR. It is filled with interactive exhibits. They had so much fun learned about clouds, tornadoes, micro bursts and so much more. There is a nice hike that starts right behind the building. The view is beautiful! Worth a visit and...More

This is a good place for young children mainly or anyone interested in weather. This is a quick visit place, one hour is plenty. The modern building is impressive. It is free! There is a nice nature walking hike on the grounds.

Great place to learn something and a nice time in Boulder without spending any money. They offer a tour at noon, but it's fine to go on your own. The pathway to walk outside has some of the best photo opportunities in town.

All ages will enjoy the self-guided inside tour. So much to see and do (hands-on exploration!) with many different levels of science! Lovely and easy nature trail behind the building. Great view of the plains and up close to the mountains.

NCAR is fantastic. Keep in mind that I love science, but NCAR is modern with top notch exhibits on Science and especially Weather. There is also so much information on the upcoming Solar Eclipse in August, 2017. Don't miss the original Cray 1A Computer in...More
