The Mesa Trail is one of my favorite trails in the Boulder region and I run it regularly. Its very diverse and suitable for hikers, runners and bikers. You can walk from Boulder to Eldorado Springs and grab an Uber back for hardly anything or hike/run/bike both directions. If you only do ONE trail when in Boulder, this would be... More

You can walk your dogs here, bike; skate ski when it snows. It is beautiful; Boulder is lucky. I live in south Boulder and we love this because it is so accesible. It's our Mt. Snitas trail.

We visited from Florida and enjoy outdoor activities so we went for a day hike. The trails are easy to navigate and you can go as far as 15 miles or as little as two. We took a 4 mile hike and I would rate it as easy to moderate. The scenery is outstanding and the other hikers/bikers were extremely... More

I like the Mesa Trail because it has something for everyone. There's adequate parking, and if the lot is full you can cross the road and park at another trailhead. There are picnic areas and restrooms. My Meetup group had a gathering there this morning and it was a great place to meet - eat brunch - and head out... More

The famous Mesa Trail is really great and the Devil's Thumb which is this giant rock is not far from it it's a great place and it's just wonderful to be here. It's very close to Eldorado Canyon.

The Mesa Trail is the main artery of the largest concentration of trails in the Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks trail system. I use it regularly, though I prefer to use it to access other trails--esp. Bear and Fern Canyons--rather than to stay on it at length. It is popular, but an easy, well-maintained trail along the east flank... More

The Mesa Trail is a complex of many different trails of varying difficulty. They are all amazingly beautiful.

Trail connects to a mass of other trails and can go on for miles. Hiking, running, birdwatching are all great. I would get there early as it gets crowded. Remember that dogs need to leashed...actual leashes and not clickers/electronics. This is for the protection of your dog.

Outdoor exercise is certainly a great use of this trail, but there are others. Our party of eleven employed various sites near Eldorado Springs as backdrops for a family photo shoot that captured much of what makes this part of the Colorado Front Range such an attractive location. Early morning breezes fluttered the aspens and tossed the grasses beside a... More

I've hiked the Mesa trail at least a dozen times this year, most often starting on the north end (Chautauqua park) but occasionally the south (Eldorado Springs drive) or middle (National Center for Atmospheric Research lot). Although parts of the trail runs close to civilization most stretches provide sweeping views of the Flatirons, S Boulder Peak, Devil's Thumb and rocky... More
