We were in Boulder for a long weekend, surrounded by the Flagstaff Mountain so we took a twenty minute ride up the mountain !the drive requires great driving dexterity with lots of scenic sights. We drove up to The Summit. Parked our car, paid the $5 parking fee and hiked up to The Summit where there is a picnic area... More

Our family took a break from skiing and sledding and hiked up the flagstaff for an afternoon. The views were spectacular all along the trail! It was a great way to get Off the beaten path and enjoy some quiet outdoor time together.

There are various roads, mostly well kept and plowed to get the views. Part of the fun is getting there.

We drove up this mountain to see the views of Boulder & area. Was impressed by the bicyclists riding up it as well. Be mindful of them as there are many hairpin turns & need to share the road. There are many stops with view opp's-need to get out of car though to see beyond trees blocking some. Can see... More

Flagstaff is one of the more prominent peaks and drives near Boulder. It’s an extremely windy drive. I would not recommend it in icy conditions (assuming the road is even open) if you don’t have the proper type of vehicle. If it’s dry, then you shouldn’t have a problem. There are a few places to stop and check the view,... More

Whether you hike to it, bike or ride the car - the top of the Flagstaff Mountain is not to be missed. In the summer - great picnic spots. Year-rounding hiking is top-notch, and several view points over fantastic views of Boulder on one side, and the Rocky Mountains in all their splendor, on the other. Dog friendly, too!

Take the drive up the Mountain and take in some of the scenic overlooks. My favorite was Lost Gulch where you get a great view of the back range. There are trails you can hike but if you are short on time, at least drive up the mountain and take in the views at the overlooks.

My hubby and I took a drive up today to check out some photo options and hiking ( for him). This was the perfect spot. Not too busy, only a few bikers with death wishes in the middle of the blind curves ( yikes), and seriously gorgeous views! Drive out to the reservoir, and spend time breathing in the fresh... More

A short excursion to Flagstaff Mountain is a must to either drive or hike up for excellent views over Boulder. From this range there are good road connections with the Peak to Peak highway which heads through spectacular scenery towards Rocky Mountain National Park.
