Not very far drive from Boulder, easy paved road. Limited parking. Dogs allowed on leash on trails. Beautiful views of the cities below the mountains! Breathtaking! Beware of no parking between 11pm-5am, just incase anyone wanted to know! There are several different trail heads along the road! This place is amazing!

For sure worth the drive. The views are outstanding and the hiking is great. Just a short drive from Boulder. Take the time to add this into your next trip!

This is a really nice drive with lots of scenic views. The road to the summit was closed when we drove up, so we just parked and walked up the rest of the way. There is a better view if you drive past the summit to the pull off called Lost Gulch. It looks west/northwest and it's just mountains for... More

Just past University of Colorado, Boulder, the road climbs steeply to the summit of Flagstaff Mountain. On the way, plenty of areas to pull over for scenic vistas, short hikes or to "boulder" on the boulders and out-croppings. Great drive or very vigorous bike ride to the summit; from their the view is amazing.

The Range View/Ute Trail at the summit is a short, easy 1.2 mile loop that provides views of the Front Range mountains as well as the city of Boulder. I prefer to hike it clockwise, starting on Range View and returning on Ute. (An early reward of the mountain views.) Parking can be tight so go early in the morning... More

This is my favorite place to go in Boulder for a peaceful retreat type getaway. Wonderful trails, nice picnic tables scattered throughout with stunning views, huge pavilions for groups, plenty of parking, a wonderful amphitheater, ranger station, and my favorite spot--Artist Point. I can spend hours here just soaking it all in and re-centering myself.

I am married to a photographer. We went in search of subject matter. Great views to say the least. But also tripped across some wildlife. Probably saw 25-30 wild turkeys and an equal amount of deer. Heard a fast moving river but icy roads made us turn our rental car around.

We were in Boulder for a long weekend, surrounded by the Flagstaff Mountain so we took a twenty minute ride up the mountain !the drive requires great driving dexterity with lots of scenic sights. We drove up to The Summit. Parked our car, paid the $5 parking fee and hiked up to The Summit where there is a picnic area... More

Our family took a break from skiing and sledding and hiked up the flagstaff for an afternoon. The views were spectacular all along the trail! It was a great way to get Off the beaten path and enjoy some quiet outdoor time together.
