It was just announced that this museum will be closing permanently in August of 2017. This is your last chance to see this highly rated attraction in Boulder. The owner is closing the museum and selling off all of his art.

The outside sculpture garden brings the West to life. The inside gallery will greatly expand your idea of contemporary Western US art has to say about the western settlers, the Native Americans, the cowboys and their natural environment.

We could spend hours here! There's so much artwork to see and as an artist myself, I loved the secluded feeling of this gallery so I could linger and study each piece as I pleased. It has a wonderful reflection of Colorado culture & nature with a focus on realism and the western style. The outdoor sculptures were the icing... More

If you love Western art, go see this place. It's free. If you don't care for Western art, then go Mon-Fri and see how greeting cards are made.

This place is not my thing, and it is full of Western Art and a Western Sculpture garden, but if this is your thing you will love it as the owner does have a great collection. When my mom visits from MN she insists we go here as she LOVES to give cards for every occasion and this place has... More

Definitely worth the short trip north of Boulder. One of the best free art museums you'll encounter. Outstanding and diverse collection of western art assembled by one man/family. Outdoor sculpture is just terrific. And the story of Leanin' Tree cards is pretty cool, too. Kudos to Leanin' Tree for making this great collection available to the public -- and for... More

Really nice free first class paintings, mostly western and excellent. The bronze statues in the yard outside are stunning. The oiutside garden area is a nice place to hang out.

With time to spare on a Boulder visit and having read about Leanin' Tree in a local guide, I decided to go off the beaten path and check out the Museum, and I'm so glad I did!. The western art is breathtaking, and there's so much more than I expected in this small venue. The card & gift shops have... More

This small museum has an extraordinary collection of Western art that stands heads above the collections in most larger museums. And admission is free! There is serious art and humorous art, paintings and sculpture. It is a real treat to see that much fine art without having to walk miles.

This museum is a very nice way to spend part of an afternoon in Boulder! The sculpture garden is full of interesting and beautiful Western-inspired pieces. I visited in the winter so I don't know about the landscape but I imagine it's lovely! The art inside is amazing and takes about an hour or so to get through. They have... More
