Chautauqua Park is a MUST for any visitor to Boulder who wants to enjoy a hike or an afternoon at the park, or fine dining at the Dining Hall, or even music in the theater.

The park is an historical landmark in the middle of Boulder, and the food is very good. We enjoyed the park surrounding the old house where dinner is served, while seated on the balcony. Worth a visit when in the Boulder vicinity. Highly recommended.

This hike is very challenging especially if you have non-mountain lungs. But it feels great! Once we reached the top I wanted to stay all day. It was beautiful.

Beautiful views. Many trails. Do not be put off by the steepness if the first leg. The flat irons are beautiful. The hiking is fabulous.

Parking is a little hard, but once you find parking, there are so many trailheads in Chautauqua Park, that you cannot do them all in one weekend. There is beautiful scenery, or you can just picnic in the park. There is a playground for kids....More

I have hiked here twice and I would highly recommend. The nature is beautiful and there is great signage throughout the park. I came with a group of friends and we had a blast.

I found this when looking for a park to pass the afternoon before a meeting in town. So peaceful. Hiking trails in the neerby foothills start here. There was a nice old style semi formal restaurant with live acoustic music and later a famous silent...More

Bears are not a problem here. Mostly bear sightings would be generally harmless brown bears, not the dangerous grizzly bears, and brown bear sightings are rare. But mountain lions are in the vicinity, often spotted in... More

There is a visitors center. I would suggest checking in with the visitors center for most recent wildlife reports. Be safe ... use common sense ... never ever engage a bear if encountered. Read up on what to do if you... More
