The grounds are beautifully kept and is peaceful most of the time. Take a slow walk around the perimeter before choosing one of the eateries for a spirit lifting meal.

The place is a knock out, but not for aged or infirmed. The walk in is far too long, no accounting for wheelchairs or people with walking disabilities. As a wedding venue, it's outstanding.. sort of minimal with a religious air, not imposing though, and...More

The Abbotsford Convent was occupied for many years by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd. The Sisters took in young women who would have had a hard time surviving. Life was austere, but it was better than being abandoned. Now the Abbotsford Convent is an...More

Plenty of history here, a tour of the convent is well worth the time. The gardens are lovely and there are plenty of food options for eating inside or out. There are a couple of galleries and plenty of people watching to be had.

Great place to visit especially on a market day. Also, next door to the Collingwood Childrens Farm. Good family outing in beautiful grounds.

It literally feels like you are in the country! Peaceful and quiet. Beautiful grounds with cafes and gorgeous old buildings. A real gem in the city.

No accommodation at the Convent. Aparthotel Quest Abbotsford has reasonable prices and is the closest, else it is not far from the central business district of Melbourne.
