I’d rate this hike as moderate but only after having done more strenuous hikes I. The area. It was 3.21 miles to the top starting on the 5 senses trail. It took us about 1.5 hours. The trail was pretty private. We hardly saw anyone....More

We hiked through Beaver Creek starting at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch heading up and over the village to village trail. Our intended path was to go up around chair lift 11 and back over the chairlift 12 and 18. The problem was there were...More

We hiked the trail over Labor Day weekend. We bought lunch at Avon Bakery at 9:00 and started the hike around 10:00. It took about 2 1/2 hours to get to the lake, and about 2 hours to get back. The trail starts to the...More

Well marked too. Challenging at times. There is some. Rocky areas to climb through. Altitude gets to around 10,500 at top. If you have trouble breathing at altitude, this hike is not for you. Between the difficulty of the hike and the elevation, you will...More

Great hike and beautiful views from top to bottom, but man its a long haul and uphill. Not for the faint of heart in any way shape or form.

This is a moderately easy trail that has sun, shade, views, and a nice destination. I happened upon it from information on the internet since the Beaver Creek hiking map was really useless--it is just a repurposed ski map.

Convenient trail head from village; about a mile along 5 Senses Trail. Moderate, some rocky areas. At times trail runs along creek, love the sounds. Great aspen and conifer groves

Not a bad hike up to Beaver Lake...its a nice spot in which you can easily spend a day if you wanted to. I think most hike up and back down. We saw a couple of deer, that didn't run away when we passed them...More

There is a beautiful lake at the top. It was worth the long hot walk up the mountain. You feel like you are in paradise when you get there.

Sorry I didn't notice your question sooner, but the Vail area does have wildflowers. Hopefully you enjoyed them on your travels.

We did it in November, so it's definitely doable in the winter, but make sure you have the right boots to do it.
