Potato chip & wine pairing was fun. Silly but fun. Too much salt for a wine I think. But the wines! Oh, the wines are delicious, silky smooth, tasty , luscious. The only pinot noir I have had recently that I can stand. The rose and sav blanc were wonderful, red blend a real treat. Expensive wine, very expensive but lovely.

A little tricky to find
Sign says furnishings by Ralph Laure; a little bourgie, perhaps, if one cares
Rosemary was the best hostess
The wines were absolutely delicious (and expensive)
My favorite was the pinot noir

Don’t go here, don’t join here. We joined during covid, communication was terrible to start. We requested specific wines and the wrong were sent. As a member who hasn’t visited in a year, we had to accommodate their schedule, which fine. And then we were treated with rudeness when we arrived. And it was made very clear in a rude and embarrassing way that they’d be charging me for a 3rd tasting (mind you that I haven’t used my membership for a tasting once this year and they’re nickel and dining me on the first tasting in a year)- and then I said if this is how it is, I don’t want to be a member. Having good customer service in a membership is very important to me. I literally had a cancellation email of my membership before we even left. I’ve never…:
In summary. Joining this winery was been a pain and a mistake since the beginning. Don’t join, don’t bother going there. Rude, self entitled people.
Don’t go here. Certainly don’t visit.

While my group was staying in Sonoma, it was recommended that we take a trip into Yountville by some locals. We had reservations at a restaurant in Yountville, however, we decided we wanted to try to fit in a tasting before dinner. We found silver trident and got lucky that they had a time slot open that worked perfectly with our schedule. They did not disappoint. We got to try 5 truly delicious wines (especially the Rosé, don’t miss out). 4 of the wines were wonderfully paired with a canapé. Good price, good wine, good food, great staff. What else could you ask for?!? 100% recommend!!!

My wife and I have stayed in Yountville on past trips to Napa, and we never really made time to explore the smaller tasting rooms in the town. Many of them looked intriguing, so we vowed to spend more time wine tasting in Yountville on our recent trip, and Silver Trident made the list. We were staying just steps away at Hotel Villagio, and I thought the concept of wine tasting inside a beautiful Ralph Lauren Home showroom seemed lovely. It was!

We visited on a late Saturday afternoon in January, and even though the website says that reservations aren’t needed for groups of four or less, I emailed in advance just to confirm. I was glad I did, since I was told that they do actually prefer to take reservations even for small parties, to guarantee your space and make sure everything is prepared when you arrive. I was happy to make a reservation and was glad everything was set in advance, including noting any dietary restrictions for the small bites that accompany the wines.

I would recommend that Silver Trident make some updates on their website, because the website makes it sound like tasting reservations are not necessary at all for small groups (and the sign out front does too). In reality, they do prefer if you make a reservation, regardless of party size. While we were there, multiple small groups walked in without reservations and I saw the staff members turn each one away because they said they were full with reservations that afternoon. Although the staff seemed nice about it and offered them a quick chance to try a wine before leaving, it would be a little off-putting to walk into a place that says on its website that reservations aren’t needed, only to be told that there’s no space because everyone else had a reservation.

The minute we walked into Silver Trident, I was impressed by the lovely décor. They call it a “tasting home” instead of a tasting room, and that’s an apt description. It feels like you’re walking into the most gorgeous little home that is filled solely with high end Ralph Lauren home items. Every single piece of furniture and décor is Ralph Lauren, and it’s all for sale (although I’m sure the high prices of the Ralph Lauren pieces make it more aspirational than an actual shopping trip for most visitors, including us). The three rooms they have set up for tastings are a living room, a dining room, and a library, and we really enjoyed our tasting in the living room. It was comfortable and beautiful.

Beth was our host for the tasting, and she was lovely. She was warm and inviting, and just had such a nice way about her that fit perfectly with the environment and helped make the Silver Trident experience so positive. We started off with a glass of rosé while Beth introduced us to the experience with interesting background information about the winery and its founders. We then moved into the main portion of the tasting, which included four more of their wines (sauvignon blanc, pinot noir, the Playing with Fire red blend, and cabernet sauvignon), each paired with a delicious small bite made by their chef, who is a James Beard Award winner. We also got to try a bonus free pour of the Friends & Family reserve cabernet sauvignon, which we appreciated, since it’s normally not included with the standard tasting. Throughout our experience, Beth would come in and sit down with us to introduce each wine and food bite and answer any questions, and then leave us to try each one and discuss on our own, which I thought was a good method. Beth was very attentive, but still gave us our space to react and enjoy on our own.

One of the best parts of the experience was the food bites. The items that the chef made paired incredibly well with each of the wines and were memorable (especially the pimento cheese paired with the red blend). Many wineries just give a simpler cheese plate, if anything, with the wines, but the pairings here were really well thought out and so nicely executed. I was impressed. My wife has an allergy to mushrooms and I was also impressed that they still made a very nice alternative option for the one food bite that was mushroom-based.

After visiting many other wineries on our trip, I can’t say that the wine at Silver Trident was quite as memorable to me as they were elsewhere, but that’s not to say that it wasn’t good. The reds were all solidly good, and we particularly liked the Playing with Fire blend enough to buy a couple bottles of it to take home. I’m looking forward to trying it again. I don’t think what Silver Trident offers is quite as strong as some of the bigger names in Napa, but that’s ok, because the wine is also priced accordingly at more affordable prices.

All in all, we had a very enjoyable tasting at Silver Trident. It was a beautiful and cozy setting for a wine tasting on a chilly January afternoon, and I thought it was a great value. The tasting with food bites was $40 per person, which is reasonable for Napa, and we were even able to get one free tasting as a perk of being guests at nearby Hotel Villagio, along with the second tasting for free by spending over $100 on wine.

I personally love the wines here. The entire experience is fantastic. They have little bites paired with the wines and the decor makes it even better. Make a reservation in advance if you go!

Silver Trident Winery Tasting Home is unlike any place I've ever been to sample wine. The building is a former spa, now turned into a "home" where guests can enjoy tasting in a living room, dining room, study or library. All rooms are decorated with Ralph Lauren furniture and accessories (all for sale), and provide an elegant background for enjoying some pretty fabulous wines. We especially enjoyed the Pinot Noir.

After arriving in Yountville and stopping in Welcome center, we started our wine tasting at Silver Trident and could not have had a better introduction into Napa Valley. We tasted several delicious wines and enjoyed learning from JJ who was a pleasure to talk to. The little food bites were a highlight as well to complement the wines.

Had the pleasure of doing a tasting with Bob. Lovely tasting room with a great food and wine paring. The room is decorated by Ralph Lauren and gorgeous. The wine was fantastic. The Pinot was our favorite! Spent probably too long sipping wine and talking about travelling the world with Bob. He gave us some awesome recommendations as well for the rest of our trip. A must visit in Yountville!
