We stopped to eat lunch and were disappointed there just isn't much there. There is a covered bridge. One person in our party went under and saw the sprinkler system to protect it from far....that was amazing. Toilets are not great.
came upon this area by chance on our way to see the Sequoias. Really interesting village consisting of historical buildings with information plaques. Worth stopping for, expect to spend a couple of hours here

My wife and I saw this centre when driving past and decided to stop. It was free though donations are suggested. It was fascinating to see the covered bridge and other buildings from so long ago.
There is plenty of parking and good washrooms.
We stumbled on this building museum by accident and were pleasantly surprised. A collection of a dozen (or so) structures give some perspective into Yosemite's pioneer past. Free with admission to Yosemite.
We came on a Wednesday in mid September and it was pretty dead. None of the buildings except the stage exhibit area were open. There were 4 horses in the stables. No stage rides. But, we enjoyed walking around anyway because it brought back memories...More
If you are staying in the area it is worth the visit, but probably not worth the drive otherwise. If you have some extra time you can drive about a mile or two down the road and do the swinging bridge hike. It only takes...More
