On highway 79 near Warner Springs, this little tasting room and relaxing patio is a great find. They have ~7-8 wines, 4 of which we liked. There were 4 of us, so instead of buying a tasting, we sampled a few wines suggested by the owner and bought a bottle of the Malbec and headed outside. There is a large... More

Pam and Alex are great people, very informative about the wine industry! Ask them pretty much anything about wine and get informed! Their place is what wine tasting should be everywhere! Have a glass of wine on the patio and enjoy the peace and quiet of the outback of San Diego county! Deep flavorful reds your choice? They have them!... More

We enjoy going to Shadow Mountain, Pam and Alex are the owners and are quick to share stories of their Winery and Vineyard. We love the old vine Zinfandel harvested from 72 year old vines. If you plan ahead you can stay in one of their tent cabins. On the North Mountain Wine Trail, they're a short drive from Temecula... More

Pleasant setting. Friendly, knowledgable owners. Excellent wines. I recommend the champagne. It's quite good. The Muscat is good. It's not the typical sweet wine. This is drier. Very nice. We went home with several bottles of champagne and Viognier. Those were my favorites. They have a lovely sitting area in back so we purchased a glass of wine, some cheese... More

Shadow Mountain is one of five wineries on the North Mountain Wine Trail around the Warner Springs area--a surprisingly wonderful environment for a peaceful day out to enjoy truly excellent wines. Alex and Pam are the "real deal"--producing award-winning, absolutely delicious wine at over 3,000 ft elevation. This isn't your typical "Temecula-commercialized" experience. It is rustic, small, and quiet--with beautiful... More

We travel to explore outstanding wines both in the U.S. and in other countries. Shadow Mt. Winery is in San Diego County. When most people think of wines in CA they think of Napa, Sonoma, Santa Barbara and some of other places but San Diego County is a hidden gem. The area of Ramona and just north in Warner Springs... We stumbled on Shadow Mountain on our way back from Julian. My girlfriend was looking for a small winery where we could enjoy a casual tasting before driving back to San Juan Capistrano. This was a very charming winery with a great story for their start. While the property itself has a rustic feel, which I love, the wine was... More

My wife and I visited a few days ago and met Pam and Alex. We are members of multiple wineries in Temcula. The facilities are beautiful and this winery rocks with excellent red and white wines. Allow Pam to explain the history of the grounds and people and you will walk away with at least two bottles of wine (although... More

Since we live in the area, we have been tasting Alex's wines for many years and have tasted them from a state of being acceptable to the present state of being excellent wines. Each year brings new twists to old familiar wines, as well as some new experimentation. Their tasting room is cozy and tasters experience personal attention from Pam... More
