Every town should have a Gem like this! Been around forever and was my childhood favorite hangout! Way back when you could take a skunk for a walk in the local park! Great people run and volunteer here, dedicated to the care and wisdom sharing of our fellow creatures big and small. Animal loving kid's dream space to explore!

For a fun, educational outing for families with kids, visit the Lindsay Museum. Many live critters to meet and observe. Variety of educational lectures, with some hands-on petting opportunities, too.

This museum is a wonderful source of getting to know your 'outside' neighbors, the things that go 'bump' in the night. Children love to interact with animals, and they have plenty of chances to do this. It is also a great place for rehabilitating wild critters. In fact, if you plan your visit during the spring, you can see all... More

I grew up in Walnut Creek so I've been going to Lindsay for a long time. (I turned 50 5 years ago; you do the math) It's a great quick trip on a rainy day or when you don't know what to do on an afternoon with the kids. The volunteers are great and knowledgeable. After they've gone once, the... More

If you've been to Lindsay before, go back because you will not believe all of the fabulous new interactive exhibits! This place is amazing because it's incredibly interesting and fun for adults sans kids AND for children of all ages. Live animals (who cannot be returned to the wild) are on display along with informative stories about nature around us.... More

I have lived in Contra Costa for years, and yet this was my first visit (my grandchildren were visiting). I was not sure what to expect and this attraction exceeded my expectations. The cost to enter with the AAA discount was $26 for two adults and two children. The exhibits are different and enteratining. It isn't a large venue, but... More

I loved this place. You can learn so much about local wildlife here. You can also get a lot of behind the scenes info on what a wildlife hospital is really like. Pure awesome. Great for wildlife lovers and families.
