Rancho Buena Vista Adobe is well known for having a delightful Christmas presentation. The whole place is decorated with things from long ago when the house was originally built. The Vista schools take the kids on tours during the year so they can see what life was like in days gone by. It doesn't take a long time to go through this adobe, but it is certainly an attraction not to be missed at any time of the year

You will get a great overview of Vista history from the ranchero era. Great decoration for Holiday Home Tour in December to benefit Vista Community Clinic. A wonderful venue for weddings!

Unknown true historical destination, guided tours available. Used to be movie star retreat in last century. Now community maintained in period. Like a smaller, quiter Old Town San Diego.

Not far from Vista Main Street, is an authentic adobe that has pass through several hands since 1880's. Outstanding courtyard garden, old kitchen and pantry with many donated object bring this place alive. Must see!

Attended a wedding here and was surprised on the room available to walk around and use. Grounds were well kept and beautiful. Great location for any event or party.

Took my nephews & niece there when they were little. (20's & 30's now. Well curated rooms & gardens take you back to bygone era of early settlement of California. Near city hall & Wildwood Park. They even have a ghost story.

If you are looking for a great place for an outdoor wedding or event, this is your place. The grounds are pretty and the setting can be intimate, depending on how you set up. You can select your own caterer, etc.

This sprawling adobe complex claims to be the birthplace of the small town of Vista and also "one of the best preserved of the San Diego County land grant Ranchos." I agree. This house museum has an active school program where children make candles, brands and other items. But if you are a family or senior visiting on a Thurs., Friday or Sat. (10-3) you' can have a guided tour through this city museum that was begun by a Luiseno Indian in 1845 and now has well-furnished period rooms on 1.1 acres of land. Don't forget to stop in the separate art gallery that was featuring a quilt exhibit in Nov. 2015, and the adjacent gift shop where the docents hang out. Do check before you visit as events (weddings, parties) can close the casa on Saturdays.
