this museum is a must for those travelling the redwood highway.

Excellent art, home tour and overview of the history of the native people of northwest California. The quality of the artwork is astonishing!

I knew Grace Hudson was an artist who was important to the region and the museum offers a wonderful overview of the art, and heart of love Grace Hudson had for the Indians and the beautiful area. Her paintings of Indian children and books she wrote to keep them entertained while she painted them are charming. This is well worth... More

I had never heard of Grace Hudson but we enjoyed the museum and a tour of her craftsman style home. We saw a special exhivit on bird migration and another on the history of her family which was a history of the area. Beautiful baskets!!!

I love to go to small local museums around the country. They really give the flavor of an area. Grace Hudson is a destination for all my out of town visitors. It has some terrific historical exhibits and information along with some local art displays. The gift shop is a treasure of items for getting just the right small gifts... More

Fabulous local indigenous representation, mixed with current exhibits of a surprising array, including metal work, collage, sculptural composition, well represented and maintained. Best thing? Totally affordable and supports the local community! A must see!

One of my favorite museums in the west because of its emphasis on Indian art. The basketry collection will make you swoon. And Grace Hudson's own paintings of Indian babies and children (and their dogs) are so realistic, the kids almost come alive. I appreciate the museum's dedication to showcasing contemporary Indian artists too.

A community owned museum featuring a permanent collection of Grace Hudson works. This gem is worth a visit to learn more about the history of the native people and to begin to understand the significance of art in this area. Plan a couple of hours as you are transported back to a time when early settlers interacted with the native... More

Wonderful addition to the town - celebrating Grace Hudson's own art plus wonderful traveling shows. It being on the grounds of her original home makes it extra special. The gardens are going through extensive renovationbs so should be even more special by 2017.

For 20 years I've driven by the sign for this museum and gallery and always meant to go. Finally did and it was well worth the stop. Very up to date museum with interesting commentary and gorgeous native made baskets. We learned alot. The adjoining arts and crafts house is also a lovely example of the style. I'll be back!

When we arrived in Ukiah, we sought out the Chamber of Commerce for information on what to do in town. The fellow manning the desk was really helpful! He suggested this museums and historic house, so we navigated our way on foot - after a few wrong moves, found it amid a bunch of construction (they are building a new... More
