A great trip to do

There are miles of trails on the island and a very rich history. Pre-WW1 barracks and a recently opened immigration museum. Wonderful views of the Bay all around the island.

Tired of all the environmental buzz, take the old style mass transit, walk to station.... easy ride one stop to mainland.

Ferry right in the middle of Tiberon. How Fun! saw the birds swooping over the water, the golden gate and the bay bridges and Alcatraz. Great time! Fully recommend

A local treasure is Angel Island, visited by sailing the Tiburon ferry from downtown tiburon. The short ferry ride leads to wonderful walking paths on the island and vistas galore.

We took the ferry from San Francisco, where we live, to Tiburon where we ate a delicious California-inflected Mexican late lunch at Guaymas. Took the ferry back for a delightful exotic cruise that we didn't even have to pack for.

When in Marin county go and take this ferry ride to angel island. Fun for the whole family. But remember it can be cold. Bundle up.

This ride is much shorter and much more accessible than the ride from San Francisco. The boat is small and older, something of a throwback to the past. Of course the ride is in one of the most beautiful spots in the world.

Finally made time for Angel island. Cool older Garrisons, Internment camp, Batterys and cold war era missile installation(fenced off and scraped clean) we walked the perimeter loop in 2-1/2 hours kinda skipping the chance to investigate the garrison camps much. Saw many deer. Ferries keep to their schedule and take cash or something called a "check"- historic right? - there... More

The ferry is easily accessed from Main Street in Tiburon. The seating is comfortable with great views of the area The Golden Gate Bridge, Oakland Bridge, Alcatraz and Angel Island. It took about 15 minutes. You purchase tickets before boarding. There are several restaurants and shops nearby to enjoy while you wait.

Maggie (the owner and often the boat captain) and her family will treat you to a wonderful ride from idyllic Tiburon to Angel Island. It's a short trip, but the views (with occasional wildlife sightings) are great. Bring the family and a picnic (and your bikes) and spend the day. Don't forget to visit the Immigration Station, often called the... More
