Visited Long Shadow Ranch over the rainy weekend. We were glad that they were open as it gave us something to do despite the rainy weather at our nearby campground. We would have given them a higher rating only if they put a little more effort into their tasting experience. It wasn't that busy, and no explanation about any of the wines offered at their winery were given. They seemed more concerned with filling orders and having people find a spot to sit down than a traditional winery setting. We were with another family, and both of us brought our kids, who enjoyed the small farm and playground on site. Eventually other wine seeking patrons showed up and it became a little busier, and they had a nice musician show up to start playing live music. That was the highlight of our "tasting" experience. They did have a food truck on site that was fairly reasonable. Mostly sandwiches, sodas for the kids and a charcuterie plate that went well with our different wines.

All in all, if you're looking for a traditional "tasting tour" where the winery showcases their seasonal or varietal offerings, explaining the characteristics of their wines then this is not the place to do it. The wines we did taste were pretty good. The onsite food was also decent. The ambiance and live music made it come together.

We would try it again on a nicer day.

Very disappointed in the service and the wine. Our first time in Temecula and this was the first winery we went to and so I asked the one person at the counter how do the tastings work, what is offered, how much etc. He wouldn’t give me a straight answer and so we went in circles.. so strange. The wine was awful, the atmosphere was awful.. standing in this big dark room.. ugly tables.. no ambiance at all. Definitely do not recommend.

Their wine is not good. Seems like it is beyond bitter. The owner who walks around like he is the greatest gift to anything that has walked this planet, that says a lot about what he (doesn’t) provide. And that is a good wine. He vineyard is run down. Soil doesn’t look good. At some point when I was there it ( the vineyard) smelled of urine. I can’t imagine how that helps the taste of his product. There was a private even going on, the staff at long shadow couldnt even do that right. The bathrooms were…. I’ll just say less than desirable. I’ve seen better port-a-potty’s. The animals have less than ok living habits. They look miserable. This isn’t my first time to this place so when the owner ( John ) comes back with his reply saying he takes care of that place. I have other words for that. He walks around like he is god like. Then drives off in his Tesla. Like he is helping the planet. He walks around with arrogance in his demeanor. When he has nothing to be arrogant about. You can’t have a conversation with him for more than 10 minutes. It’s like he loses either thought or interest. Either way it’s disrespectful. The wine is over priced. Seems like most of the wines are astringent and not in a good way. I my self am a degreed sommelier. I can’t think of anything that I could compare it too. Trader Joe’s has cheaper and better tasting wine.

went here with a group of friends and found a great band playing, so we danced. Very laid back atmosphere with large tables under beautiful oak trees. Wines are drinkable. Great play area for children as well. Very family oriented.

What a disappointment! First no Bon fire just a small table with cylinder flames and cheap chairs. The menu had nothing related to barbecue as advertised. Patty melt on white bread, street tacos, canned cheese nachos. Was expecting tri tip , sausages etc. bathroom was a shack next to goats in a pen way to small for them. Last the entertainment was a guitar player who was just ok. Nothing about the ambiance was to the level of a vineyard. We won’t be back.

Great place in the Temecula Wine Country to bring family and friends. Listen to some good music, eat and fellowship with friends. Kids can play, dance, ride mechanical bull etc.
Longshadow was the first to offer family entertainment on Saturday nights. It's come a long way and is now Saturday Night Bon-Fire night. If your a wine lover sample his wines. Food usually available or bring your own.

Wine was good but the winery is overflowing with kids. There is a playground and parents don't seem interested in controlling their kids running around everywhere. Winery daycare is a good description .

Longshadow was our final winery on our wine tour with Grapeline. Our tour included 5 tastings. We were taken to the outdoor tasting area, along with many other groups. The winery was unprepared for so many people, which was surprising because it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, so I would expect they should have known they would be busy. Our group of 3 were only able to be served 2 of the tastings. We had cards and one of the woman had her card checked, but did not get her wine! When we finally got vocal to get some attention, the server argued that he poured her wine. The winery was so busy, there was not opportunity to learn about the wines, even purchase any wine.

This place feels like it is run by a bunch of amateurs who are that cat standing in front of a car going 60 miles per hour with their headlights on coming toward them.

The grounds are nice, I guess. They have more of a ranch setting than a vineyard setting with horses, etc. I guess I didn't sign up to go ranching that day. Anyhow, the building where the tasting is, is quite new from what I gathered. However it was not well run or organized. The young blonde at the front desk LITERALLY did not know how to work the credit card machine. I am not sure she did much else but greet people. While she was nice, she had the blankest stare and admitted she didn't know how to run it. So what was she being paid to do? DIdn't someone give her the 9 minutes of training needed to know how to do this.

Anyhow, the guy from behind the bar had to do it while also tending to multiple other people tasting. He was nice, but didn't seem to know much about the wines. This tasting was VERY expensive at $15 considering the quality and price of the wines. At most, this should have been a $10 tasting. They called it a Premium Tasting and there were no "premium" wines, whether in terms of cost or taste or any combo thereof. They also had no oyster crackers or anything else to cleanse the palate. It is a very bare bones operation to be asking $15 a pop for below average quality wines. I cannot imagine they get a lot of repeat business or a lot of people buying their products.

They also have a "gift" shop that is uninviting, dark/dank and feels very crowded where you can also taste or purchase items you can find in cheesy gift shops in souvenir shops or airports.

In all, very gimmicky, overpriced, below average product, no frils/barebones/cheap. It would be like staying at the Westin but be offered Days Inn amenities and quality.

We went on a rainy day so we were unable to fully enjoy the area surrounding the tasting room, but they had animals and playground for the kids. Wine and tasting room was nice though.
