David is an excellent coach. I especially recommend beginners to learn from him, because he can bring you up to speed within a day. I have had a full day lesson at a ski school before but can barely do a perfect parallel. I also used to struggle to ski on medium blue trails smoothly. After 3 hours of coaching from David, I can comfortably ski on medium blue trails.

We used ProPowder Guides on or ski vacation to Tahoe earlier this year. We needed instruction for me (48 yrs old) and my son (7 yrs old). We were able to go down blues; but struggling with parallel turns. The instructor was amazing and had a simple technique that fixed many years of bad ski habits and within a few hours, we were able to make parallel turns and navigate slopes that were previously too intimidating. I highly recommend ProPowder Guides!

I highly recommend David if you're looking for a great ski instructor. I've been skiing for many years but I always struggled with my parallel turns, especially when skiing down steep slopes. I took a day-long personalized (6-hour) lesson at Squaw with David. He communicates really well, he teaches using very simple techniques that are easy to understand, process, and implement right away, and he is also super patient. During my lesson, he took me on on at least 5 different chair lifts and 10 different trails with increasing level of difficulty. I got really good hang of parallel turns by end of the day and I feel much more confident now. Thanks David!!

David was an awesome guide for a wonderful morning of snowshoeing. He had great communication throughout our whole experience - from booking on-line to checking in with us closer to our tour and afterwards. Very professional and very knowledgable about the Lake Tahoe area. David provided snowshoes and birdseed for the price of the tour. The snowshoeing is strenuous but most of our athletic family could keep up. It is not a flat tour, you are walking up into the woods that opens up to a fabulous view of the lake - just gorgeous and worth the price! Birds came up and ate right out of our hands (!) and David took amazing photos of our family that he sent promptly after the tour to us. Amy came along on our tour as well and was equally as professional and enjoyable. It was a great diversion from a week of skiing and our whole family loved it. Highly recommend! David is so genuine and personable!

We hadn't skied for around 9 years so felt a few private lessons would help clear the cobwebs and prevent further bad habits from developing. Made contact with pro powder guides a few weeks ahead of our holiday, replies were very prompt, but for peace of mind I wanted to speak to someone to make sure my plans were realistic. David put my mind at ease and I scheduled 3 lessons over a 12 day period. These dates were able to be changed when we arrived in Heavenly after weather predictions weren't favourable and our daughter got injured by an out of control snowboarder a day before our third lesson. David was very accommodating and flexible in meeting at different ski areas and changing dates. It also enabled us for our third lesson to have a powder day and learn off piste skiing, a great experience in April. David made the technique easy with 5 steps. Our skiing technique definitely improved over the two weeks. He pushed us and allowed us to do runs we wouldn't have known about if he wasn't with us. The videos and photos which were sent through very promptly after each lesson allowed us to analysis our technique plus have some great unique holiday photos.david also allowed 2 of the children to come along on the second lesson despite being boarders, although he couldn't teach them it allowed us to explore the mountain as a family. Look forward in meeting up again next year, perhaps Kirkwood or Squaw.
