    Quaint
The wine and charcuterie board were all good, but compared to the tasting we enjoyed just the day before, Cline paled in comparison. The venue is nice but not WOW. They seated us in adirondack chairs with a low table between us. It was awkward and uncomfortable to try to reach the food and drinks.
Thank you for the valuable feedback. Please always feel welcome to ask if another table is available if the low chairs are not comfortable for you. Hope you got the explore the expansive grounds at the ranch too. Any tips on what the other wine tasting you did previous day hit right in comparison, we're all ears and feel free to email me at mgatto@clinecellars.com to share. Would love to learn more! Have a great weekend and hope to see you soon again at the winery

    For tasters only
Beautiful location with gardens and ponds and picnic tables. If you are not going to be tasting ( and giving tips), the staff come dangerously close to being rude. First, we were sad that the museum we had come to see is permanently closed. Then when I told the staff we don’t drink during the day and drive, but wanted to have a picnic and buy some bottles of wine on the way out, the response was chilly. I had brought a minimal picnic for our friends thinking we could supplement it in their store, but there really wasn’t picnic food to buy. We chose a table across the pond so we wouldn’t interfere with their tastings, but a staff person I had already talked to, came out mid picnic to ask again if we wanted to do a tasting. When I went to buy the wine, it took a long time to get waited on. Then amusingly, the bottle I asked for was brought out in a wine bag but the bottle I had picked up from the shelf was not also put in the bag. I am short, the counter was tall, and I really struggled, but did not get help. My friend went in to buy a couple bottles and waited so long without anybody acknowledging her that she gave up. We weren’t sure whether this was age discrimination or just their attempt to make sure we didn’t come back again since we didn’t do their lucrative tasting. Tastings are $25 a person but that can be waived if you buy two bottles of wine per person which is at least $60.
Thank you Kate for your detailed review. We do have a picnic program, the Pondside experience, available every day of the week - optional picnic basket and/or charcuterie board and 2 bt of wine minimum. I do apologize for the delivery to your request to simply purchase and take them home. We're all about safe driving, so I do appreciate the thoughtfulness behind the request. I will be sure to address the pain-points you shared with the tasting room manager and team for future similar exchanges, so we may provide better service in similar situations. Appreciate you taking the time to let us know and looking forward to welcoming you back onsite!

2 reviews 15 years apart and Cline is still tops!
This is my 2nd review and each is 15 years apart. I still hold the Cline Estates in high regard. We spent the day in Napa and just didnt like the attitudes so I suggested that we go to Sonoma and find the Cline Estates. We were asked if we had an appointment which we didnt. No problem we were told. We went inside and tried a few splashes of wine and picked a bottle, got a charcuterie board and sat on the porch and enjoyed ourselves. Back 15 years ago we were treated like gold by the employee names Joe, this time we were treated like gold again by the counter help. Cline, you will always have a special place in our hearts!
Thank you so much for visiting us again!! Love that you remember Joe! He just retired after many years with Cline a couple of years ago. Delighted to hear you enjoyed your time at the winery and hope we'll see you again MUCH sooner than another 15 years! Best Regards from Sonoma from the Cline Cellars team!

    Relaxed
This was the first stop for husband and I when we got off the plane for our Sonoma trip. It is very peaceful and laid back. We enjoyed our flight and were giving an opportunity to sample a couple more before making our decision to purchase some wine. Cole our pourer was great. The grounds are beautiful.

Decent wine tasting experience, knowledgeable host
We came at the first of November without a reservation. A high quality wine tasting for $25. Refunded if you buy two bottles of wine. You can stand indoors at the tasting bar or take your wine outside to the wrap around porch. Some others had charcuterie boards but we didn't see that offered

There were 2 waiting staff on duty when we visited. One spent nearly all his time with a single customer who drank far too much wine to be able to drive home. Meanwhile the other customers who had also paid their $25 go tasting had to wait for the other wait staff who was also doing other duties. All the other people tasting were given extra wine to taste, however for some reason we missed out on this.
The service here was exceptionally bad, the staff ignored us (except when it came to paying). I have never been to a winery where the standard of service was so low.

I love this winery. The setting is amazing - sit on the veranda and face the pool - it is like a Monet Garden in CA! (Walk up to the pond and watch the fish come racing to you thinking you will feed them - it is hilarious!).
Love their wines - love their employees - we have always loved our wine tasting experience here and this time was no exception.
We also shared the charcuterie tray and I wish I had asked about the salami - it was so good and yet the taste was just a little different....

Beautiful place. Plenty of parking. There is loads of space outside to enjoy the wine on the tables. Each wine is explained to you.
Their shop was good too. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Wines are good.
