Recently reopened. Have not tried much tasting just purchased a bottle from outdoor station. Great picnic area to enjoy your purchase. Highlight are the hiking trails around lake. It’s challenging.

Thank you for your kind words! We are delighted that you enjoyed your experience with us and thank you for your wine purchase as well! All profits from wine sales go back to support the non-profit Bartholomew Park we call home - its vineyards, hiking trails, picnic grounds!

We visited for a wine tasting. The outdoor seating area is a delightful setting with tables scattered amongst mulch walkways and succulent beds under live oak trees and beautiful views in every direction. Perfect way to while away and hour or maybe more! There are also hiking trails and picnic tables to enjoy more of the estate if you want.

First things first: the wine selection and the tasting ambience were very nice. However, the winery charged me TWICE $445 (which was the overall price for our group). I noticed this a few days later and called the winery. Spoke with the manager who seemed nice. He claimed to have found the receipts and promised to rectify the situation and cancel the duplicate charge. It has been a month since and absolutely nothing happened. I had to open a dispute with AmEx (which takes time/effort). I have been provisionally credited for the bogus charge. The morale of the story: payer beware! If paying with with a credit card, check your charges ASAP. (NOTE: posting the same review on Yelp).

They absolutely welcome dogs. Not so much kids. Kids are not allowed in the premise even though I read about the place being kid friendly before booking. Due to the storm, we were told our horse-riding activity got cancelled. They do not have any place for the kids to hang out during rainy day. Our kids have to wait in the car. Can't enjoy our tasting under such circumstances.

I should have read the review which said “felt like we were taken advantage of”… I felt the same way. $100 for two tastings and no break on that even if you buy a bottle. Wine was OK but not outstanding…. Nice surroundings and tasting room but with so many other places to go it was a let let down - oh well, you live and learn huh?

BEAUTIFUL outdoor setting! Go for the hike and stay for the wine!
Or go for the wine and enjoy a picnic in the beautiful setting!
Tasting fees are some of the lowest around. We especially enjoyed the Zin Rose`and the Zins.

The winery supports the beautiful parkland open to the public. The hike is moderately challenging...hilly, rocky and worth it!

Stunning with fantastic wines. Bartholomew Estate Winery is a historic site that has been thoughtfully brought back to life. Gorgeous grounds, beautiful park with hiking trails (these are solid and stout hikes, highly recommend), great picnic spots, fabulous wine tasting, delightful staff. This hidden gem in Sonoma Valley is not to be missed.

A beautiful place to relax and enjoy a wonderful wine tasting. Their wine is fantastic. The setting is gorgeous. Be sure to hike through the park for views of the Sonoma Valley. The staff is extremely friendly, entertaining, and knowledgeable of all their wines and of the area.

We went here for a tasting and were shocked at the expensive tasting fee of $45 (not waived if one purchases; not made clear up front) - we were under the impression that the fee would be waived with purchase. Also, a tip that was added to our bill (there was a place to put a tip and I hit "no tip" and yet we were charged appx. $20)... Plus, a very high pressure, full press sales pitch on joining their wine club...

Pros: beautiful grounds, beautiful estate, good wines (at least those we tasted); dog friendly; you're sitting on a hill under beautiful trees overlooking the Estate, a pond, and it's pretty stunning.

Cons: Biggest concern: charged a huge fee and tip that wasn't made clear at the beginning; extremely obnoxious, high pressure sales pitch that was non-stop to join the wine club; tip added - didn't know until received email receipt. We were made to feel "small" because we didn't join the wine club.

Apologize for a bad review but this wasn't a pleasant experience - as nobody wants to feel ripped off...

Gorgeous setting outside surrounded by succulents and trees and views of the vineyard. The wines were really delicious and come from their organic vineyards. The staff is very welcoming and it's very dog friendly too. Great for couples and small groups. The tables are nicely spaced to give you privacy.
