On August 1st, the Madrigal Family Winery of Napa Valley, a Bacchus Capital portfolio company, opened its new tasting room at 819 Bridgeway in the heart of Sausalito. Since the 1930's, three generations of the Madrigal family have been farming some of Napa's finest vineyards and have always been known for their old-world hospitality; adding a second tasting room is a natural evolution of the family's history. The new Madrigal Winery tasting room is the first and only Sausalito tasting room to be opened by a "brick and mortar" Napa Valley winery.

The wines are great. I'm partial to Big Cabs, but the Sonnet is amazing. I make my way here every trip to San Francisco! Shouldn't be any confusion now on price of tasting or wine because it's clearly stated in the menu!

Visited this tasting room on the day we arrived and were impressed with the wine, and the knowledge and enthusiasm of the people pouring them. Mainly reds (yay!), and there wasn't one among them that wasn't something you'd happily buy a bottle of to share...More

Stopped in during a visit and did a tasting of five of their wines. $25 seemed high for the experience but the wine is excellent. Buying wine by the bottle is expensive.

Found this place randomly exploring Sausalito and what a great stop. The tasting manager Patricia was so informative and taught us so much about wine that we didn't know which helped as we were beginners. The space is nice, open and filled with art work....More

This really was a nice surprise on the main road in downtown. Situated among kitsch shops and ice cream parlors, it had great quality wines from the family vineyard up in Napa county. It certainly isn't the same as being at the vineyard itself, but...More

We love to visit Sausalito and this was a great choice and the wine was fantastic. Tastings were free with $100 purchase. Port was my favorite.

Family winery retail outlet on the Bridgeway in downtown Sausalito. Very nice selection of reds and whites from this family owned and operated local winery. We bought a couple of bottles of the Petite Syrah and a bottle of their Reserve Cabernet Franc...excellent.

I was invited to join friends who were "club members" so I can't say anything about the economics, but I was able to enjoy an hour or two of wine tasting of various varieties of wines bottled by this winery. Staff was extremely pleasant and...More
