This is a great hideway. IF I were to be in the Army this is where I would have wanted to be stations. The hills, lake and ocean are absolutely breathtaking. The walk to Battery Townsley is well worth the walk.

IF you love coastal artillery forts, this is the place. The buildings have been wonderfully maintained by the State of California. The various batteries are a blast to visit and are a great hiking experience.

You could but it would be quite a walk. Personally, I would love it. ause I hike and ruck. It would not be for the faint of heart.
