Fun and friendly group pouring wine. We sad down in the club member large barrel room (they opened it to all during the Christmas Season), and they served us at our table while we had our own picnic lunch inside. What they are pouring is NOT what you can find in retail stores. This is the good stuff. Overall, we enjoyed the trip to the beautiful location. They lost a star in my ratings, since they did not waive the $20 tasting fee with a purchase.

Beautiful place located on a nice vineyard. The wine tasting is average and only a cheese plate as a choice for snacks . Despite that it is a cozy place to spend a couple of hourd tasting wine and enjoying the great view

Bridlewood is one of my absolute favorites in the Santa Ynez wine region. Not only are all their pours scrumptious, but the service is always super friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. If you pull up and the gate is closed don't just leave, they will let you in! They have started new security measures to keep people from just wandering around the property. So, even if it says by appt only, unless the tasting room is at capacity, they will buzz you in.

Bridlewood is one of the most beautiful wineries in the region. The wine isn't bad either! All of their wines are pretty affordable and easy to drink. The grounds used to be an equestrian center. The architecture of the winery reminds me of an old Californian mission. There are plenty of places to relax and enjoy the views with a good sampling of Bridlewood wine. Although Bridlewood can get a bit crowded with wine tour visitors, it's definitely worth a visit while in Santa Ynez.

This is a wonderful find for us as we are always looking for places where a family reunion might be held. On the hill top, overlooking the rear of the property, a lake, a track for horses from days gone by. We were told in the 1920's this was laid out and built by Italians and the track was of Italian sand, easy on the horses hoves. A few tables and chairs are in a patio next to the tasting room and more are found at the viewpoint a little further. After a delicious sampling of wines, we found the 2015 Viognier and 2014 Syrah Block 5 worthy of purchase. Everything about the property just seemed to be a picture to be taken, their wines are pretty good too!

I used to like Bridlewood winery. We have visited several times over the years. They have produced some of our favorite Santa Barbara County Syrah's. Last year we actually went backa second time to buy more Syrah to fill our shipper box.

So we were disappointed to show up this spring and see where they are now. The tasting price is a ludicrous $20. For teeny tiny pours to boot. Bottle prices are in the $45 to $60 plus range. Brutal for what you get. The guy pouring for us said they are known for Syrah. OK why was there only one n the list at $20 for a tasting? Yeesh.

I can't say I was impressed with the tasting room staff in terms of knowledge or their engagement with the customer. You used to be able to walk the very nice grounds, but now these are shut off to all except wine club members.

Just not what it used to be. Maybe worth visiting once to see the grounds, but then move on.

I had reviewed Bridlewood just a couple months ago and was not that impressed. But we thought we would give it another try. I'm glad we did.

For a first impression, Bridlewood is a gorgeous winery. But this time it was even more so. Maybe it was the color of the sky or the lighting, but it was about as drop dead gorgeous as one could hope for.

But this time the wine even tasted better. Maybe it was the server (a charming French lady who was incredibly personable) or the wines she was serving. But we were impressed. My wife particularly liked the 2015 Bridlewood Paso Robles Rose (a fairly dry variant of the ones you used to associate with dessert-types of wines ... not so now) and I found heaven in their Bridlewood "Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara" Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (especially noteworthy for me as I typically don't care for Cabernets ... too much tanin verging on a slap in your face). But both of these wines were smooth and delicious. We bought both, the latter of which a bit on the pricey side though.

You should not go to Bridlewood without enjoying its setting. Built on what was once a horse ranch, it affords some gorgeous views and a relaxing feel. I keep promising that I am going to bring some cheeses and breads to enjoy their wine while taking in the view but have never done so. Maybe it's because there are so many other incredible wineries in the Los Olivos area I am always in a rush to visit.

But Bridlewood came up at least 2 notches for me during this visit. If you have not been there recently and maybe were disappointed the last time you were there, give it another chance. For us it was well worth it.

We were taken here on a wine tasting tour. We were attended by Stephen at the counter who was very knowledgeable and friendly. We sat outside to enjoy the sunshine too. You could take some lunch and just enjoy the wine. An idyllic location near the quaint town of Los Olivos.

7 of us made a reservation for 2 pm on a Saturday afternoon. We set up our picnic lunch on one the many patio tables and proceeded to our wine tasting: 5 samples for $15. When two of our party decided to join the membership at the winery, all of us were suddenly comped, which was a nice surprise. Those members' guests at future visits will also be comped. If you go, you should check that out. But by all means, meander the grounds behind the main buildings. Stunning! We all enjoyed the wines, too, which isn't always the case at a wine tasting event.
