Beautiful place located on a nice vineyard. The wine tasting is average and only a cheese plate as a choice for snacks . Despite that it is a cozy place to spend a couple of hourd tasting wine and enjoying the great view

Bridlewood is definitely a very beautiful winery in a wonderful location, but unfortunately out experience was not that great. The tasting essentially meant that someone poured wines in a hurry, told quickly the name of the grape and wine and then left. We had no opportunity to ask followups. I asked to see the first bottle, but every next one was yet again removed from the table so fast we couldn't even see the label. Wine is not just about the taste, but about stories (about the wines, the winery history and so on) and this was something that was lacking completely. Sure, maybe it was just a busy day, but this was the only day for us.

I visited this winery a great deal in the past. But not it is closed except by appointment and they will not respond to e mail or calls to get an appointment. It is off my list

I had heard such great things and was excited to finally get over to Bridlewood, but when I pulled up to the gate it was closed. A sign said "By Appointment Only". I hadn't been told that by anyone or even read about it, so I was pretty disappointed. Reading the reviews here, someone mentioned this is a security thing, and if you buzz at the gate (and they're not super busy), they'll let you in. Oh.... next time.

My spouse and I went to this winery for a wine tasting and day trip. I would have to say it was excellent. We did the $30 tour and arrived at 11:00 am for our private tasting. We were taken into the barrel room which was converted from an old horse barn. It was really beautiful. The woman who introduced us to all the different wines was amazing. She asked what type of wine we drink which is almost exclusively reds. She let us know that she was going to switch out the 2 whites on the menu for a different set of reds. She was so hospitable. After 45 minutes of different glasses of wine and some bread and oil she asked if we had any questions. We decided to sign up for the wine club and she let us know that if we did that our wine tasting was included and the bottles we were buying would be discounted. The grounds are gorgeous and if you want to just hang out with some friends and bring some food for a picnic this is the place to do it. We will definitely be going back again especially since we are members now and get free tasting plus other benefits. My spouses sisters coming in May and she is already excited about going.

Bridlewood is one of my absolute favorites in the Santa Ynez wine region. Not only are all their pours scrumptious, but the service is always super friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. If you pull up and the gate is closed don't just leave, they will let you in! They have started new security measures to keep people from just wandering around the property. So, even if it says by appt only, unless the tasting room is at capacity, they will buzz you in.

First off, I am an avid wino - self-proclaimed, but everyone knows this about me. And yet, I'd never joined a wine club. I recently joined Bridlewood's, however, this past weekend. Now, one might blame the early afternoon buzz on this and one might be right. But honestly, Kevin, our vineyard and estate tour guide, was such a pleasure, imparting his knowledge and humor in a way that made me delight very much in joining Bridlewood's exclusive wine club. I am very much looking forward to my return in late October to fetch my first month of wine and hoping to see some friendly faces while enjoying all this beautiful winery has to offer. Do yourself a favor and opt for the black glass tasting experience - well worth it and so much fun!

I LOVE this winery - have been a member for 2 yrs now and no plan to switch soon. love all their fuller bodied block 5 and 7 syrah, and their reserve cabs are not bad at all! not cheap, and not exorbitant either! the grounds are just beautiful - sometimes when I come to pick up my shipments, I just spend a hour lounging on their grounds with a good book. it's peaceful and just gorgeous!

however, if you are not a member, i feel like the tasting can be pricey - last visited, i noticed they upped the fees to $30 / reserve tasting. not worth it, in my opinion. however, as a member, i get to taste for free (along with 3 other guests) - so that doesn't matter so much to me. but beware!

Worst winery experience I’ve ever had in my life. I am someone who drinks wine daily and has visited wineries all over the world, including Napa, Mendoza, South Africa, France, and Italy. My boyfriend and I walked in for a tasting and were made to feel extremely unwelcome. We were rushed, given no tasting notes, and were handled with a very sour attitude. It seems as though we were treated differently than the other patrons because we are in our late 20s (much younger than everyone else there). It’s their loss - we spend a lot of money on wine and particularly favor local, less publicized wineries, but we left with nothing but a poor experience. I will neither drink nor recommend a bridlewood wine again.
