I was anticipating playing the ‘other’ Oakmont. I was not disappointed! While the fog on the first three holes made it difficult to see where the ball landed, the burn-off unveiled a beauty unsurpassed! The course wasn’t bad either!
For the green fee you get to play a beautiful course location on a course in average condition.
Friendly staff at the club house, limited flight range but you have to hunt for the ball despenser. Greens full of ball marks and bare spots. No...More
If you're in Sonoma County and looking for someplace to play a round, Oakmont GC's West Course fills the bill. Relatively long, without being cruel, the West Course greens can be a challenge (you can seldom land on the front!). More like a public course...More
I was looking for a course to play over 2 days and through I'd play the East course one day and the West the next. The east is an executive course so it served well as a warm up for the West Course. I found...More
I played the West course today and found the greens fast, the fairways in good shape and the rough being mowed (yippee). With all the rain, the course is in really nice shape. As more sunny days get here, the course will get better and...More
Two courses each with good challenges.

My Sis and I picked this golf course because it rated highly for being woman friendly. We did not find it so. We both needed to rent club's and chose the east course for its shorter distance. Only one bag of mixed women's and men's...More
along with bennett valley country club and windsor, my favorite golf course in the area. oakmont west is longer than east, but east is better maintained. views of hills on both sides and plenty of deers and geese on the golf course.
