We've been members of Carol's wine club for many years. If you like zinfandel you must try hers. She produces some of the best zins in California. She also produces a few whites, and we especially love her Coquille Blanc. Her winery is tucked away at the back of an industrial area, so when you go there, yes you are... More

Having been enjoying Carol's wines for several years. First time to her tasting room tucked away in a corporate park. Nice selection of zins. Friendly staff.

We take about two pilgrimages to Wine Country per year. Stopping at Carol Shelton Winery is a mandatory event. There wines are very, very good. Some are over the top exceptional. The wine tasting room in front is small but personable. Events that open the back room and second wine bar are even better. This is a don't miss winery.... More

When we drove into the industrial estate that this tasting room was located, we almost didn't go in because it was not what we were expecting. Thankfully, we got over our initial hesitation because the wines and service were great - we even got a quick tour around the warehouse where the wines were made. Worth a visit if you're... More

Definitely worth a stop for the wines! The location --in an industrial park--is certainly not scenic....and the shop is small and a bit crowded -- but the wines are really outstanding and the staff is friendly. Come here to taste some really great wines (esp their Zins!) ---and that you can afford to buy....then go to other wineries for their... More

When you visit Sonoma County you need to drive around all the "valleys" in order to experience the many fine winemakers. They are mostly estate wineries with vineyards spread over many acres of rolling farmland. They are beautiful estates and some are rich with history and wildlife. Go. See them. Then you need to visit Carol Shelton Wines. As mentioned,... More

Before visiting, our group of 6 didn't know about Carol Shelton. So upon arrival in this industrial park setting, you are very skeptical. However, we truly had the best time! The wines were wonderful, we met Carol herself, and she even gave us a brief tour of the wine making process. I highly recommend visiting to any one! Thanks again... More

A wine tasting must do in Sonoma. Totally unpretentious. Sort of out-of-the-way, in an industrial park that will make you wonder if you are in the right place. Carol puts her 30 plus years of experience to use in creating some of the finest wines for the price that you have ever tasted. Just check out the ribbons and awards... More

I visited this small unpretentious winery during a wine weekend, but the winery is currently open daily from 11 to 4. While highly regarded by wine critics and connoiseurs, their pinot (and their return policy!) was a little temperamental for me. A bottle I had left in the car briefly exploded - or at least the cork popped out unaided... More
