Had a great walking tour of Santa Monica yesterday. For only $10 I went on 3 hour tour of downtown and learned about the history of the city and the architecture. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting. Our guide was very friendly and informative. My favorite part was the speakeasy :)

I've been to Santa Monica many times but never saw its past. I always experienced Santa Monica as a "Berkeley South." All this changed when I took the enjoyable and informative two-hour Walking Tour. Thanks to a very knowledgeable docent, I learned a great deal about Santa Monica history and architecture. It was a great way to spend a Saturday... More

Any visitor who has a couple of hours will find this worthwhile. Our Docent, (... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
