All along West Cliff Drive get great sea views of surfers, whales, tidepools, seastacks, monarch butterfly nesting site, classic cars...This is a Santa Cruz cool-spot! It never gets old even after hundreds of times of running or cruising this route.

Cliff Drive is an easy, paved walk along the ocean in Santa Cruz. It’s on a cliff (duh) about 20-40 feet above the ocean, so you won’t get wet, except for some places when the tide and waves are high when you might get splashed....More

Most view spots didn't have a guard to protect from fallng off the cliff. We enjoyed our drive but didn't dare to go close because we had small children. I guess the unprotected view would be awesome for adults.
