This is where the surfers go, and the cliffs are a great spot to watch them, but it is not a nice beach, in front of the Dream Inn, with all the garbage from the homeless people.

Right in front of the Dream Inn, this beach is a nice little spot for beginner surfers. It's on the other side of the wharf from the main beach so its a little less crowded.

This was my least favorite beach in Santa Cruz. It wasn’t very clean or there must have been some kind of activity. We were there 10 minutes, there were more surfers and that was the end of that. Don’t waste your time here.

Lotsa tourists and non surfing locals on the sand. Further out, I see Cowells as access to a very mellow wave for learning to surf. Hire a board, go to school and after your vacation you can say you surfed and surfed at "surf city"...More

We're staying at the Dream Inn, which is right on the beach. Lots of activity all day, but not overly crowded. Plenty of restaurants & other activities nearby.

Great spot for people viewing while laying on the beach. Kind of away from the main tourist section on the beach.

Can be crowded -- but the surf us usually tame, and it's easy to get on and off the beach. This is a great place to learn to surf, as it has a wide shallow break.

Easy to access. Close to Boardwalk attractions. West of the pier - smaller beach. Somewhat dirty, sand and water. Good spot just to stick your toes in or visit. I am not a surfer. My favorite part of this beach was being able to see...More
