Lotsa tourists and non surfing locals on the sand. Further out, I see Cowells as access to a very mellow wave for learning to surf. Hire a board, go to school and after your vacation you can say you surfed and surfed at "surf city"...More

We're staying at the Dream Inn, which is right on the beach. Lots of activity all day, but not overly crowded. Plenty of restaurants & other activities nearby.

Great spot for people viewing while laying on the beach. Kind of away from the main tourist section on the beach.

What a great location to surf for the first time! Nice waves, but shallow enough to be relaxed while trying to get up for the first time.
