We had a great day out looking around the old town, enjoying the steam train ride and taking a walk in the woods to see the truly fabulous redwoods.
The chap who did the commentary was an absolute hoot and made thet tour all the...More
Excellent, food was great, the train ride was a great experience stopping in the middle to have hot cider and listen to music by a warm and inviting fire, then back to camp for coffee and apple pie. Then line dancing to finish off the...More
Took the family here during our vacation break in July 2017 (Sorry - the system wouldn't let me set the correct year) and it was fun. Personally, I love steam trains, so this was especially enjoyable for me. They cover a lot of the history...More
My family went on this tour for my son's 4th birthday. Our small party had people ranging from 2 years old to 65 and all had a great time.
Pros: Obviously, the redwoods are the big draw here. They are beautiful and this is such...More
We loved spending a few hours on the railroad. It was a great way to see the trees and rest our feet after days of hiking. It was a beautiful ride through some beautiful trees. Our conductor was a lot of fun. I recommend this...More
If you are planning to take a family of four for the day, be prepared to part with the best part of $200. The train tickets are expensive, even for the one hour ride, the car park is extra, and you are asked to turn...More
Visited the area for Labor Day weekend. This was a great way of combining two of my favorite things: steam trains 🚂 and redwood trees. At an hour and a quarter, the ride is just long enough to avoid becoming monotonous. There is also a...More

This was a great way for us to get to Santa Cruz boardwalk with the family. We had a group of 28 that road on the outside train on the way to the boardwalk and enjoyed going through the redwoods and seeing the beauty. On...More
Good booking experience except for they don't mention the $10 parking fee until after you've paid for reservation. Arrival and check-in not too bad, but we had to line up for "will call" tickets in the same line as walk-ups, so it could have been...More

I would not recommend it. It is a bumpy ride and a lil crowded. It really just a time to appreciate the amazing beauty of the forest and take it all in. Eating would distract from that and might disrupt the other guests... More
I would not recommend it. It is a bumpy ride and a lil crowded. It really just a time to appreciate the amazing beauty of the forest and take it all in. Eating would distract from that and might disrupt the other guests. There is a campground and nice areas to eat before or after the ride. Enjoy!
