This is not a very large museum but it has some local history as well exhibits that change. You can spend just a quick 30 minutes or a couple of hours.

they have live entertainment on first Fridays each month. It is free and a fun thing to do. they also serve refreshments.

Big changes coming to this Off-Pacific location. Wine bar is (sadly) gone. Salon on the Square is going strong, as is the Homeless Garden Store. Summer weekend marketplaces have potential to bring good activity to this little corner. Hopefully the Museum plans to revitalise don't get hung up too long.

Our Museum of Art and History is a wondrous place. The historical display is fascinating taking through eras of original native inhabitants, the Californios, the new state of California, the gold rush, the Portugese and Italian fishermen, the Japanese women pearl divers, Prohibition, the sardine industry, WWII, the ranchos, the quarries, the redwoods, the university. Nina Simon became the director of the Museum a few years back, for many years the museum was lost and barely visited, Today is a different story, Nina has brought back the fun experience it was meant to be, of course their a monthly exhibits, now there is Music ,fun mask making and different projects for the children, at no... This is a fun interactive museum in downtown Santa Cruz Area. I stopped by and enjoyed seeing the different exhibits.
