We have been to the Arlington Theater countless times to see concerts, talks/discussions/forums, comedy, movies, all types of entertainment and last night was absolutely terrible and unacceptable!!
Kevin Hart was the main act and I couldn’t get ANY of the punch lines. A complete and total waste of money and left me bitter and mad!!
The 1st 2 acts were even worse with people yelling at mixer people to fix the sound.
This was not just me. I saw dozens of couples leave during the show and it wasn’t the material. He is known for lots of f-bombing but the show was mostly clean and good (per my wife who understood some of the words)
I was my money back !! So disappointed!!

Been many times here to watch a movie whilst in Santa Barbara.
Steeped in history it’s a delightfully elegant theatre. Forget the main cinemas, try this one if your favourite movie is showing

Located in downtown Santa Barbara, this historic theatre (almost 100 years old!) is unique in that it has comfortable seating and good acoustics for music. The theatre has been renovated in the past but still holds to the original style and is a great place to go to. They have movies as well as concerts. We walked from where we stayed - although there is a small parking lot, parking downtown can be a challenge.

We went to 2 concerts this last year. The theatre has a capacity of a little over 2,000 but seems more intimate than that even. All the seats have good views although in the first 5 rows or so, I would stay away from the very edges - you will have site of only 1 part of the stage and depending how it is setup could have view obstructed by piano or something else.

They have a full bar that is out in a patio that is cool place to hang out before a show or even during if you need some fresh air. And inside the theatre building (before you get to your seats), there is seating as well.

There are plenty of restaurants around the theatre to grab something to eat before your show starts. Check out who (or what) is playing and enjoy a night out at the Arlington.

We decided at the last minute to attend the cinema. Excellent choice. It's a lovely building and such great value for money with a plebty of choice for seating. It was a very enjoyable evening.

What a great place for a concert! Historic theatre located on state street, smaller venue (a little over 2,000 seats), Full bar w/ bar food. A couple of parking lots around - I walked though so can't speak too much about these.

Loved coming here for a concert. Most seats have great view - with that said, I was in the 5th row about 5 seats in - glad I was not in the seats at the edge as some of the equipment on the stage I think would block the view. Seats were comfortable - like most places, you get to know your neighbor.

Acoustics were great and the show was incredible. All the staff I came across were very cool from the ticket office to the ushers inside. I was really glad that they did a good job of keeping people by their seats. Did not let people hang in the aisles or stay up front for long. (does it sound like I am getting old - haha). Just don't like paying premium prices for someone else to block the view. And yes we stood the entire time. Take some time to study the architecture - it is very cool.

Would definitely come again if there was someone I liked to see. Was super convenient to come on the train, get a place to stay and enjoy a brief getaway w/ incredible music.

I have been to rock concerts here many times. In 2019 I saw John Mellencamp and then ZZ Top. The seating is horrible unless you are lucky enough to be right in front of the stage. People stand up most of the time and you can't see at all. There is no air conditioning or even fans at this venue. It is sweltering hot throughout every show. Then AXS took over the ticketing and now the prices are sky high to see a show.

Saw Chicago in concert with business guests while at a meeting here in Santa Barbara.
Seeing the concert at this venue was great. Great seating, sound & very comfortable. Beats a big facility location with charm and atmosphere. Try it if you get a chance!

Arlington Theatre

Santa Barbara
Yes, the Arlington Theatre is a beautiful building in the category of historic theaters. However , if you plan ahead you can have a fascinating bonus that few locals even know about. Once a month there's an open house of the 20 ton organ - listen to experts on it who give the history of it's migration from New Jersey to Texas to Santa Barbara. There's no electronic amplification for sound to fill the auditorium, it's all through air traveling through tiny, small, medium, huge pipes which create everthing that would be needed to do its purpose - provide music for silent movies, with whistles, trains, animals, as well as a wide variety of music that is played from the six keyboards on this 20 ton organ. The members of Santa Barbara Theater Organ Society are there to explain, play, invite you to play perhaps; it's a fascinating hour or two hours. And if you've already been to Santa Barbara, add this for something to look forward to.
