Loved everything about this. Great lunch provided. Bring a change of clothes so you can hike after the kayak, views are amazing. Waterprooof camera is a must.

My 15-year old son and his friend begged to do this Channel Islands kayaking trip when we took a trip from Northern California to Santa Barbara over spring break. I wasn't planning on doing the kayaking myself because I'm a runner, and although I exercise...More
We did the Marine Gardens at Prisoners day - and we loved it!
Our guide, Chuck G., made sure we (all first time kayakers) understood what we were doing and that we were safe. The scenery was wonderful and it was a terrific day!
We camped with CIO for one evening, over two days. Our guide JD, gave us a wonderful and custom experience. We kayaked and hiked both days. GIven rougher waters the second day, we had to adjust to new plans, but it was all really great....More
We went on the Caves and Coves Classic Tour on 12/30/15. Despite some delays in getting started on our tour, we had an amazing experience and would recommend it to anyone that is up for an island excursion. Our guides, Chuck & JD, were kind,...More

Great advice here, thanks for sharing. As an FYI for anyone reading this and wondering about skiffing to the island rather than unloading on the pier; the pier was damaged in a storm in mid December 2015 and is closed until the National Park Service...More
A trip to the Santa Barbara Chanel Islands is an adventure into another world in a sense. A chance to see crystal clear water, star fish, sea urchins, fish & if your lucky hundreds of Dolphins. This company does an excellent job starting at the...More
These guys are the best! We've had a membership in the co-op for a long time to use SUPs and they are always as accommodating as can be. We recently arranged an Island kayak adventure for nine of us through CIO and I highly recommend...More

We're touched by your nice comments and stoked you had such a great time at the islands. Happy Holidays!
Channel islands outfitters took great care of us, two amateur kayakers. They send you enough info ahead of time so you know what you need to bring and they provide things for you too (like an extra jacket to wear over the wetsuit, much appreciated)....More

The deepest of the caves on the Eastern side of Santa Cruz is about 800 feet long. In total there are 120 sea caves on the island, but the areas of Scorpion and Coche Point hold roughly 25 sea caves that are explorable by kayak. During the Winter we do cancel tours occasionally due to inclement weather, but during the Summer we almost never cancel.
