We camped on Santa Cruz Island and met up with CIO on Saturday, 9/12/15 for a Caves & Coves tour. The entire staff was well informed and friendly, our pre-kayak safety talk was comprehensive and useful. The gear was in good condition and our guide, Emily, was fun and knowledgeable, giving us tidbits of the history of the islands as... More

We never have been kayaking before. They took such good care of us from fitting our wetsuits and fins and teaching us every step. Matt was our guide and I cant say enough good things about how capable he is. We are an older couple and Matt helped us from beginning to the end of our journey. Arlene, Pacific Palisades,... More

From the time we walked up to the site for our boat in Ventura & kayaking tour( on Santa Cruz) , as well as the return trip , we experienced friendly & caring employees & guides. The boat trip stopped on occasion to witness what the sea has to offer. In our case, a large school of dolphin ( hundreds) AWESOME.... More

Never been kayaking, and only snorkeling once, my husband and I chose the EPIC adventure. WOW! From check-in, where we met the chef and our private guide, to disembarking the ferry around 5ish, we had an experience of a lifetime. On our ferry ride out to the island, we saw common dolphins, bottle-nosed dolphins, and a humpback whale! Kayaking was... More

Everything was taken care of: ferry ticketing, wet suit, kayaking lessons, and some island history. It was so much fun and they were so organized. They provided us with lessons thoroughly and still had us in our wet suits quickly so that our time on the water was the maximum. You need only to be reasonably fit . . don't... More

I took my daughter to Santa Cruz Island and used Channel Islands Outfitters for snorkling and kayaking. They were great. Our guide, Matt, really worked hard to make sure our experience was good. I would highly recommend this outfitter.

The CIO arranged every detail for us from the ferry ride to the kayaking to lunch, to pacing---it is a first class, customer-oriented operation run by people who know and love what they are doing. Our guide, JD - one of the company owners took 4 kayaks - exactly the right number for a guided trip (no crowding) around the... More

Took the Channel Islands Outfitters' Caves and Coves day trip for kayaking to the Channel islands, had a blast. Everything was taken care of - boats, equipment, food. Had a great time kayaking with JD Dresser as our guide, lots of fun. Did a bit of snorkeling after lunch in the lovely warm water. Saw lots of wildlife - common... More

Great experience. Our guide, was informative about the geological formations, the wild life, and history of the cultivation of the area. He also was extremely patient and encouraging. I am hard of hearing and he made sure that I knew what to do and when.We were sooo jazzed. Thank you for such a fun, fab, trip.
