I had assumed that the Wharf in Santa Barbara would be as upscale and interesting as other locations (State Street, etc). Au contraire. No offense but why the heck are CARS driving on this pier?? We were there right after sunset in December so it...More

The wharf is an easy walk, with affordable and convenient parking just across the street. You are able to drive onto the wharf as well, but if you're looking to enjoy the scenery I suggest walking. The boats nearby made for some impressive views the...More

was not impressed with the Wharf, lots of homeless and only franchise tacky restaurants there. Sorry but I've seen and expected better.

It's always worth a walk on Stearns Wharf. You can drive out and park. Interestingly, public parking in Santa Barbara is the best deal in town - two bucks for the first 90 minutes. Several excellent restaurants on the Wharf, as well as an excellent...More

From here you can watch the seals and shorebirds play. There are always fishermen at the end of the pier. Good, although expensive shopping and restaurants. It is well worth the money to have a meal here where you can take in the views. Come...More

To begin our trip up North, we stopped at State St to have a little ice cream and walk along the wooden pier. Parking was fairly easy as it was a weekday. I just traveled up a couple of side streets before finding a place...More

Driving out to the end of the pier was an interesting experience and the first 90 minutes are free, shopping was minimal, watched many fishermen get lucky..

We spent around 3+ hours here and paid $5 as parking. Make sure you exit once in 90 minutes as first 90 minutes are free parking. We had lunch and tasted wine at deep sea winery.. Walked around interesting stores and drove out. We also...More

This is a nice wharf comparable to the Santa Monica pier. There are a few nice restaurants and shops. It offers a nice view of the Santa Barbara coast.

How much is it to fish? Do they have pole rental? Do you need a permit? We are traveling to town for a wedding and looking for something for the boys to do

There used to be "no fishing" signs which were not enforced. Now there are signs for designated fishing areas. I believe that there is no overhead casting. . .for the sake of fellow visitors, I imagine. There is a bait... More
