I had my small grandchildren with me in Santa Barbara so this zoo was a treat. It is nicely done, clean and had the beautiful California coast weather to help us enjoy our break from the South Texas heat.

A little hilly but a nice zoo. Has a nice play area for the kids and a train ride. Spent about 3 hours here.

Smaller than expected and a bit pricey but beautiful grounds and views. Very clean zoo. Paid around $18 for parking.

A nice, fairly small zoo with a varied selection of animals. They have a small children’s play area with an ant hill style hill the children can slide down on pieces of cardboard—that was a big hit with all the children we saw, as well...More

A wonderful treasure for such a small town. We have a family membership and love to take the grandchildren there, especially for their special events on Halloween and Christmas, and their special "snow event" where they bring in artificial snow for sledding.

We are used to large zoos with lots of animals. The Santa Barbara zoo was small but well designed and beautiful. It is shady and very well maintained. It is an enjoyable place to visit.

We were visiting Santa Barbara and took our young grandchildren to the zoo. I’ve only ever been to one other zoo, the Cincinnati Zoo, in my hometown. The Santa Barbara Zoo is small by comparison, but we had a very pleasant visit. Our family membership...More

Thanks for the note, CurlieQ. We love our sister Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) institution, the Cincinnati Zoo; and, are glad you remembered to bring along your local zoo membership. At the age of 53, Mary Lou, the American Alligator, has been here longer...More
