One of the last projects FLW worked on, which was "completed" after his death. Beyond just architecture that reflects and integrates with its natural surroundings, the Marin County Civic Center is FLW's complete vision of a community hub complex. It's well worth a stop to...More

This building is amazing! It was fun just to walk up and down the halls on all 3 main floors. Don’t miss the library - small but interesting pure FLW design. We missed seeing a courtroom, but have heard they are fun to see too....More

The Marin County Civic Center is worth a visit if you are a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright. It no longer has a shop, I would like to have bought a book about the building, even a brochure would have been welcome. It is like...More

I wish we had visited on a day that there are tours, but seeing such a massive Frank building, is special even just walking around the property. If you appreciate Frank's work, take the time & visit the civic center.

No need to book just show up - we did it last minute and it was fascinating. You get shown all the design features of the building, its a cross between the Guggenheim and Star Wars. The guide was very knowledgable and the tour is...More

A wonderful place to visit but not to stay. County seat contains most county offices, courts and jail. A self guided tour or docent led tour is available. A great place to visit before or after taking a day round trip ride on the new...More

Such a treat to walk around inside this architectural gem! Views from upper floor decks too! Incredible County Library is housed here.

From the Farmer's Market, to the 4th of July, to Antiques fairs, Jewelry and Gem fairs, Entertainment Venues, there is always something good to do there. Or just enjoy the lake and all the Canadian Geese and ducks.

For the great frank Lloyd Wright only it is a remarkable work of art. Usually we go for court for jury duty or the library

I think the interior is closed outside of business hours. If you go self-guided, visit the cafeteria on the 2nd floor and have a snack or drink while sitting on the outside terrace (near the rear of the dining room). Very... More
