Very picturesque and scenic trail. The trail is barbed so can't go really close to water. It always gets cold because of the fog and trees. Bring a jacket even if it is really sunny. The trail is narrow shared by bikers too. Since it...More

A favorite place to walk with view of the reservoir, deer, bunnies and occasionally a rattlesnake. Can get busy with no place to park, but has rudimentary restrooms and a water stop of two into the trails. You can enter either at the San Matei...More

An easy, flat and paved walk along Crystal Springs Reservoir. Park at either trail head and walk as far as you want along water views, trees and pastures, various wildlife and some historic structures. Bring your camera!

If you are training for 1/2 marathon or marathon, you can run for 10+ miles without stopping. It's great for walking as well. Beautiful views of the mountains and large lake. A must try for serious (or not) runners in SF bay area.

Sawyer Camp Trail is a great place for the young family to walk or ride bikes on a paved path along the Crystal Springs reservoir. Bench are placed along the way at scenic locations. Stroller friendly for very young children, rolling slopes for joggers.

Thanks for the answers. Can you still walk or drive across across the dam for the Crystal Springs Reservoir? I grew up in San Mateo decades ago and we could see the dam from our house. I'd love to be able to do that again when I check out the trail

I was there over 4 years ago and it was closed for construction. Is the path open now? Thanks!
