The library is very near to the Mission (where parking is at a premium and also very limited) but the library has a nice parking lot behind it. When we were there, we shopped for books at the "Friends" shop and found excellent choices for...More

I guess we didn't know enough about architecture to appreciate this building. I would not drive out of my way.

Interesting Michael Graves-designed library and fun book store that supports library programs. Whether fiction, history, travel or art, there's a gently used book for a great price for everyone. There's first-Friday and Saturday movies for adults and kids.

This is an architecturally interesting library with a beautiful courtyard to relax in. A great place for architecture buffs to visit.

San Juan Capistrano's library was designed by Michael Graves. It is a beautiful building inside and out and is home to many local events. The library is located across the street from the San Juan Mission Basilica.

It is very long and narrow but has a nice children's section and room for discussion groups. They hold a book club and also archeological lectures. Very good staff.

Our stepfather is a retired architect, which is why we came to visit this building. We spent at least an hour here, with him taking several pictures of the building, which is why I think this is quite an iconic one. Personally, the design of...More

And even lent me a library card. There is a nice bookstore on the side..Books are stacked neat, but not a lot of children's books. Librarians were helpful and not grumpy! Visit if you have extra time before the train comes like me..!
