On our second visit to San Jose, we finally stopped in the Rose Garden. What a wonderful park, we could smell the scent of the roses from across the street as we approached. Lovely displays, walking paths and benches to sit and enjoy the park....More

Those are certainly "5 star" photos of the roses! Glad you enjoyed your visit. The Garden has been a jewel of San Jose since 1937!

This is a great park to wander around and smell the roses. Some will be older than you! The only downside for me, which may be an upside for others is no dogs allowed.

Thanks for visiting and posting your comment. Yes, the Rose Garden is San Jose's "best cheap date spot"! Plenty of options nearby to pick up a sandwich or takeout to enjoy in the Rose Garden like Park Station Hashery, and Zanotto's!

Spectacular, especially May to September, when roses are in bloom. Wonderful place to walk through and "smell the roses". Pick up one of the brochures (near trellis entrance) which identifies the roses and points out the ones w/ fragrance. Beautiful fountain in center of garden...More

Sorry! I just saw this. I hope you visited the rose garden. We don't cut back the roses until much later. Still in full bloom in September!
