The Monterey Peninsula's love affair with world-class racing traces its beginnings to the inaugural running of the Pebble Beach Road Races in 1950. Those sports car events quickly outgrew the public roads of the Del Monte Forest and a beautiful new road facility was born on November 9, 1957.Since then, Monterey has been visited by some of the most prestigious racers in history; Roger Penske, Dan Gurney, Parnelli Jones, Kenny Roberts, Bobby Rahal, Wayne Rainey and Valentino Rossi to name a few. The late 60's and 1970's may be remembered as the "Can-Am Years," but it was also the debut of Trans Am, IMSA and AMA motorcycles. CART Indy Car racing and Grand Prix Motorcycling put their stamp on the track in the 80's and 90's. More recently, the huge evolution MotoGP has created a phenomenal global following for the track.Today, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca hosts five world-class race weekends each season, with elite road racing series from around the world visiting the Monterey Peninsula every year.

I have seen this race track many times on TV and thought it looked great. Today I got to visit it and now I know it is awesome. The TV does not do the Corkscrew justice. I would love to come back one day and...More

Have never been much of a gear-head, but was invited to Porsche Rennsport by friends who definitely are. Accepted the invitation, but didn't have very high expectations. Wow was I wrong! We had a camp site front row right above the track at the famous...More

This is a historic race track. Watched Indy Lights and Pirelli World Challenge races. Staff very friendly and helpful. Able to walk around easily, sit at any grandstand. Good junk food choices, no lines for bathroom. Great weekend for a race fan.

Awesome classic race cars, super pit access combined with an exciting road race track - it just doesn't get any better. I recommend you spend a little more for the preferred parking pass. It allows you to park right next to the track, near the...More

this answer only applies to the Rolex Motorsport Reunion Race. The admission price allows you inside where you can walk through the pits, around the track and sit where ever you want. I usually do not sit in the grandstands... More

Hi we would like to attend this race the first weekend of May but are not sure if we should get the 3 day pass or just one day, and if just one, which day is best? Also, are there other events associated with this that we should try to attend/do? Thank you

It depends on what you want to do. Getting the 3 day pass gives you the option to see a bit each day, if you like; it can get fairly sunny & warm at the track and there isn't much shade. The main races are on Sunday; other... More

I cannot help you. If you do not know the area it could be a good base to enjoy all the surrounding sites at a reasonable cost. Is nearby to Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur.
