The Monterey Peninsula's love affair with world-class racing traces its beginnings to the inaugural running of the Pebble Beach Road Races in 1950. Those sports car events quickly outgrew the public roads of the Del Monte Forest and a beautiful new road facility was born on November 9, 1957.Since then, Monterey has been visited by some of the most prestigious racers in history; Roger Penske, Dan Gurney, Parnelli Jones, Kenny Roberts, Bobby Rahal, Wayne Rainey and Valentino Rossi to name a few. The late 60's and 1970's may be remembered as the "Can-Am Years," but it was also the debut of Trans Am, IMSA and AMA motorcycles. CART Indy Car racing and Grand Prix Motorcycling put their stamp on the track in the 80's and 90's. More recently, the huge evolution MotoGP has created a phenomenal global following for the track.Today, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca hosts five world-class race weekends each season, with elite road racing series from around the world visiting the Monterey Peninsula every year.

A great weekend. Fantastic access to the pits and a petrol heads must do event. In my opinion it needs more big screens around the track. Radio earpieces so you can hear the commentary over the noise and more seating to rest and eat. Otherwise a well organised event.

MRLS (Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca) is my home track and I could not be happier with it. Legendary turns like the corkscrew and turn 9 make it both technically challenging and a great course to go 10/10ths on as it's much safer than it was back in the 70s and 80s. The one enormous downside (which generally doesn't effect me)... More

Always has been a dream to watch a race here, walk down the corkscrew and see it in real life, not just the video game! Almost had the chance to ride the track, but that plan fell through. Still an amazing track and can't wait to get back there! Bucket list!

This was our first year here and it took us a good 30 min to find where we needed to go to just get in. Once your in it easy to just walk around and find your way but it would be nice to have more seating areas and bathrooms (not Porta potties.) We did have to ask one person... More

We love the SBK races. Had a great weekend at Laguna Seca. The races are exciting and the corkscrew one of my favorite places to watch the races. Although, turn #2 is my new choice to watch the races.

Ok this review is a little late but I am headed to Misano for the Motogp this September and it brought me back to the last race that Motogp had at the Laguna Seca Circuit just outside of Monterey, Ca.. WSBK now goes there which is great but just something about a 270 BHP motorcycle screaming around the undulating, earthquake... More

I have been coming back to this track for years. It is probably one of the nicest road courses in the country. Ranks up there with Road America, Lime Rock..... The management has added small improvements for the fans just about every year. It is far different from my first visit in 1975. When coming to this track, be sure... More

We attended the IMSA races here in April. This is a fascinating, technical road course- wonderful for drivers but just ok for fans. It can be challenging for fans to move to different parts of the track, however there are lots of shuttles to help. Lots of hills, and it can be hot and dry, and cold and windy all... More
