I enjoyed walking down the streets of old town in Salinas. We ate at a local restaurant and then took in a movie. Everything was well kept up and the locals are very friendly.

Not much to see or do unless your into people watching. Old run-down part of town with many empty boarded up businesses & drunks/homeless wandering everywhere asking for handouts. There is an old theatre a few businesses & a couple run down looking restaurants.

We have made a trip every week to Old Town Salinas, to find new restaurants, places of interest, and fun things to do. There are many excellent restaurants including Patria's, Monterey Coast Brewing Company, First Awakenings, and The Golden Fish, which I have dined in, enjoyed, and reviewed. On my list to visit soon are Georgio's, The Pub, Farm Fresh... More

I like this place but 1. Its not very big 2. Some shops are open and others not. 3. There's nothing that interesting to go into old town for. In some places you have ice cream shops, chocolate shops, arcades, fine dining; in Old town, you dont have much of that. The Fox theater is there but nothing worth watching.... More

We were staying close by on our way north. Old Town sounded nice and it was. Not as touristy as some which was a relief. We happened on one terrific Mexican eatery. Never had a better burrito ever. Tomatillo sauce. A good lunch and a nice walk, art galleries, clothing, coffee shops.

Don't miss the Cherry bean local institution, Bakery Station for the famous Belair or V W sandwiches. Must have a cookie as well, Gold Leaf Tea just for the joy of Terri Madrid, and don't forget Michaels Mexican

Really enjoyed walking around Oldtown in Salinas. The Steinbeck Library is a treat. Lots of places to eat and drink, and some cool shops and antiques. Many of the buildings are very interesting, such as the Taylor and some of the older ones. Was happy to find nice places to stop and stroll on our journey from So. to No.... More

We enjoyed our visit to Salinas and seeing the patriotic Veteran's Day parade in thw Old Town section. Veteran's Day is a wonderful day to have the community come out and see the 89 entries in the parade that is held in the Old Town area. People came out early. We parked at the multi-story parking garage close to the... More

With all the new elegant pubs and restaurants popping up not to mention boutiques for men and women, Old town has really become a beautiful hot spot. It truly is my favorite place to be.
