A nice side-trip to a family gathering

The docent was very sweet and helpful. We enjoyed the museum far more than we had expected. There are many interesting displays!

Takes you though the history of Steinbeck and features his memorable books. The only criticism is that it could be a little larger and some of the interactive exhibits aren't working. Still, a good museum that makes me want to go back and read more Steinbeck.

My husband and I just visited this center. We both found it very enjoyable and informative. Previously, I hadn't know that much about Steinbeck but through the films and displays I learned a lot.

National Steinbeck Museum is worth visiting if you are around. But you won't miss much if you skip it. They have some exhibitions from the novels but I can't say they were impressive. I think it is good mostly for school kids.

I had not read any of his books, only saw two movies made from them. It was fascinating to see the story of his life and his books. Great history of the area and really gave a chance to understand the man and his life in the area. Impressive displays. I ended up buying a book before I left.

We have been to the Center a number of times. It is a wonderful place to watch the history of California from the 1930's until the 1950's. There are movies and many displays. There are people to answer questions and a gift shop for the items you just must take with you. If you are a teacher, there are many... More

I brought my students here for years as part of our literature unit on local, American literature. The students loved the displays, interactive nature of the presentations, and enjoyed being part of Steinbeck's California.

Excellent layout explaining Steinbeck's life and the influences on his writing. Exhibits are just like he described them in his books.

Just like everyone else, this is beautiful museum for Steinbeck fans. There are 2, 12 minute videos in little theaters, one biography and one about philosophy, both are great. The museum is well-displayed, a biography of his life and books, and each book area has a sort video of the movie or about it. It's done really well, you can... More

Steinbeck lovers unite in a beautiful part of California. His books and career are brought to life, as well as the rich history of the Salinas valley. Not really a place for kids.
