Our favorite Napa winery has fallen from their former Heitz. We were curious what would happen after their recent acquisition and the buyers promise not to change Heitz. Today was a big disappointment, the new owners lied and changed the winery. The wine is still...More

I was expecting to be totally wowed by this wine after all the hype and the need to make a reservation for tasting. Needless to say, I wasn't. The wine is pretty good but not worth what they charge. Go wine tasting in Sonoma/Mendicino area...More

Deals that are "too good to be true" are either (pardon the reference) "fake news" or won't last long. Such is the case at Heitz Cellar which has been sold by the Heitz family to the Lawrence family. Under the Heitz family, tasting was always...More

I was lucky enough to visit Heitz 25 years ago when it was in what looks like a barn. To keep up with the times they have built a new visitor tasting room that is more like something out of Jackson Hole ski resort. Beautiful....More

Went today as part of a wine tour. After 2 fantastic experiences, this was extremely disappointing. The man pouring was evidently not interested. He read out what it said on the sheet (“this is a Cabernet Sauvignon “). When we asked for some water, we...More

Learned about Heitz Cellars from our sommelier guide at Inglenook, he described the wines as been top-notch here- and they did not disappoint! This is a small winery and the tasting is actually free here! I think we tried about 7 wines in total! The...More

My husband and I walked in to sample a few wines and to our surprise it was free. It’s few and far between to find wineries with complimentary tastings. The lady serving the wine was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We tried a few and decided...More

We stopped in here to try their red wines as another winery had recommended them. However, the prices of their wines are very expensive, and the fee for tasting was also rather high. To cap it off, the owner that met us at the bar...More
