We visited on Veteran's Day, which just also happened to be my wife's birthday. How amazingly pleasant to discover they will give you a complimentary tasting if you have served in any of the branches of the military! To say that sets a tone is an understatement! Stefan was a barrel of information, all puns intended. He really was one... More

They recently built a new tasting room here and it is fabulous. Beautiful views and ground around the building. Their Insignia blend and Backus Cab are excellent wines if a little pricey. I could rate the whole experience better if the tasting person had been a little more low key and the two high end wines a little less pricey.... More

We had a private tour and tasting as part of a group event. The winery facility is well done with main room centered around private tasting rooms, the founder's room, barrel room display and also has outside scenic view tasting areas. This winery is one not to miss. The 2014 Pinot Noir (Feestone Vineyards), 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) and... More

We're Insignia Club members and brought our two friends for a tasting. The wines poured were, as always, beautiful. We had a picnic lunch out on the terrace prior to the tasting .

We participated in a wine class/tasting called It Rocks. A certified sommelier was the presenter. The info focused on how wine (Joseph Phelps) tastes differently depending on which region the grapes were produced....the soil/rocks impacts the taste as well as the temps. Excellent presentation and the wine was our favorite from the many we experienced.

We were lucky enough to have had a private tasting at Joseph Phelps. We could not believe how beautiful the setting was here. It was absolutely breathtaking. We were seated on the patio underneath a large umbrella and our hostess told us about the history of the winery and started to pour us the 7 wines that were in our... More

We had high expectations of our wine and cheese pairing experience at Joseph Phelps and were disappointed. There were 14 people that were all put together at a table with 6 wines, some cheese and fruit. The part of the experience that we didn't enjoy was the host. It's hard to describe how he made you feel, but it wasn't... More

We were able to attend one of their many tasting tours during our visit. Originally it was full but being a Phelps Preferred Member opened a spot for us last minute seating in the founder's room. I'm so impressed with the research and dedication that is committed to thier wines. Excellent variety and quality for tasting and great education. Walked... More

You must make an appoinment here & we chose Terrace Tasting. Relaxing view of vineyards & comfy chairs - it doesn't get much more relaxing! We tasted some superior wines & found the experience worth it- If you purchase wine after, our fee was waived. This is experience is for the wine lover of fine wines!
