The last time I visited the Crest Theater was a very long time ago before K Street had light rail. We went there this time to enjoy a blues concert. There was no difficulty at all with tickets or finding our seat. The lobby was crowded however as the performers were selling and autographing CD's there. It made is somewhat... More

beautiful, classic building from the Golden Era of cinema! Wonderful, annual Japanese & (3!) French Film Festivals (offering incredible movies not available anywhere else). They also hosts great guest speakers & musical groups. It is a delight to wander through the lobby, especially during the festivals. So close to excellent restaurants too! A much more gratifying experience than big cine-complexes.

This is an excellent place to see a movie. Great seating and sound and views. But, tickets are expensive and parking is also expensive and this impacts my overall review. There are so many options to see movies today at very good facilities at a lower price and free parking that you really must want to pay the price if... More

When I lived downtown for an extended time, I went here on the weekends when they had a movie of interest. The only issue was that the theater itself is a bit worn with the typical sticky carpet and movie smells. The movies they feature are good and current. I recommend giving it a try.

The Crest has been a Sacramento institution forever. In addition to seeing cult classic, indie, classic anime and other films, I've seen X, the Pixies and many other bands, David Sedaris, Billy Collins, and, most recently, US Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera. The Crest is an excellent venue in the heart of Downtown. While the city may keep messing around... More

I have been to many concerts here. Theater was built in 1912 and has been beautifully restored to the elegance of that era. Lower seating and balcony.

My first visit to Crest Theater was go see the Quentin Tarantino's Hateful Eight Roadshow - before renovations. Recently was there for a WAR Concert and was happy to see the much improved renovations. The new seating and ADA seating as well - only thing could be improved is the bathroom - if it cannot be enlarged it should be... More

This place is gorgeous inside, a Art Deco dreamland. I am a big guy and the seats were so much better than other Theaters I have been in. Music sounds were picture perfect, or we had a really good sound mixed that night for Jackie Greene. Serves beer and wine and a separate concessions counter.

We visited the Crest Theater for the first time to attend a Jim Brickman concert. His show lends itself to smaller venues and the Crest was a perfect size for it. The theater is beautifully restored and well maintained. The seats were a little bit tight but comfortable enough for the show. The lobby was a bit crowded waiting for... More

Try to come here and watch a performance at least once. The ambiance, decor is worth the visit specially if you architecture and old stuff.
