A somewhat melancholic little museum in a quaint park in midtown Sacramento, a place that is calm and soothing and makes you angry at the same time. Angry about the fate of native Americans and angry about the missionaries who imposed their beliefs with sheer force destroying an ancient culture in the process. Worth a visit

Small but powerful. Well thought out displays of California Native American lifestyles, tools and regalia. No photos allowed. Located adjacent to Sutter's Fort. On street (metered) parking. Handicap accessible. Small gift shop. Restrooms in a separate building. Well worth the visit.

We found this museum to be very interesting especially in terms of the Native Tribes that used to inhabit all of California. There is a wealth of information contained in here, and it's presented beautifully. We would certainly come back here to visit.

This is a great small but mighty museum that gives you a nice snapshot of the Sacramento Natives. Well laid out with photos, stories and great artifacts to view. It is clear that a lot of thought went into planning get and executing for the correct way to tell this awkward history.

IIs a cute little museum and gives a good insight in how the California's Indian went true there lives. From useful to pretty things, it's all there telling the story. It's set in a pretty park that's worth some time also.

We came here for a 4th grade class trip. It's a small museum. Not much for kids to actually touch; everything in glass cases. I think its more suited for adults or older children.

I have an interest in history but could have skipped this tiny museum. Nothing here of interest at all and it is very, very small.

interesting (if small) collection of Indian artifacts, attached to Sutter's Fort. Nice shaded parking, good place to teach & learn local history.

We entered the facility and were treated with great respect. They gave us an overview of the museum and informed us not to take photo's. My grand children and grand nice were with us and they were able to go through the displays with the rangers of the museum giving them a tour. The children were given a sheet of... More

Objects give a sense of the rich and deep culture and lives of California's first citizens. I would like to see a more cohesive examination of the different tribes; even more objects; more depth. The space is pretty constrained, however, and I'm just glad that this museum exists because there is a huge story to tell.
