This building is a little out of the way (if you are walking the streets) but very beautiful with lovely gardens. Not open to the public.

You can no longer tour the mansion as Governor Brown lives there but you can walk around the sidewalk around it and take pictures. It really is beautiful.

We just walked by and took some pictures. The mansion seems to be closed for public. At least we did not observe any activity:(

Enjoy a tour of the old Governor's Mansion. A lot of history in that old building. Well worth the time spent visiting. take the time while in Sacramento to check it out. You won't be sorry.

We just walked by it. Not sure if anyone lives in it. If you're walking around in that area for Farmer's Market, it's worth walking to it for a peek.

This mansion was used by many of the previous Governors of California. It has historical interest. I think there is a new mansion someplace else but not sure.

This is a very large period building. Unsure of the claimed architectural style but it looks ornate and deliberately complicated so was built to impress. However, the location as it is today seems unlikely so there is surely some history to explain it.

Yes he is. They moved in last December 2015 and they still live there.
