I have been to three concerts at the Golden 1 (The Who, Elton John and Metallica); the acoustics were terrible for all of them. These are big bands with sound engineers who know what they are doing and if they cannot make the sound work in this arena, it must have something to do the inadequate planning and construction of this building. Probably works fine for a basketball game, but if you are going to see your favorite band, don't expect good sound. Parking was Ok. We paid $13 ahead of time to park in a garage on 4th Streer, only a short walk from the venue. If you are going to an event here, just google parking and pay ahead of time for the best rates.

i discovered TSO in 2001 and loved their music. i wanted to see them since then but never really got the chance until now, in 2022.

i can honestly say that i've heard everything they've every done, i've bought dozens of albums for me and my friends, and i can honestly say,

the concert was more than i was expecting.

that it the understatement of the year. due to sacramento being sacramento, i was 45 minutes late and they played for two more hours and and it just got better. i went to the early show and was absolutely floored. daughter told me i had the best taste in music.

I can't wait until next year.

TSO sounds better in person than they do on an album and that is crazy.

Easy access from the highway. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was a bit pricey. Seating was fine even up in the 200’s sections. Men’s bathrooms lacking stalls—long lines (longer than the women’s). Popcorn buckets were refillable.

The concert of the year went to Depeche Mode!... I came in to visit friends from Minnesota. They splurged on concert tickets here. This was the best concert I ever attended in my whole life. Super happy that they were here during my stay. It definatly made my whole stay in sacramento worth it.

Great place to watch NBA action, love the downtown arena and the feeling of walking around after a Kings win! Amazing improvement on ARCO (although I'll always love the old gym!) and still feel close to the action on the lower deck. The food at the concessions could be better though. Sacramento and the fans deserve this downtown gem. GO KINGS!

Attended a Fluffy comedy show. Not featured prominently in the rules for the venue is the size of allowed womens handbags. Saw many people returning to cars with handbags deemed too big. If a venue wants to do this, this feature needs to e featured in big bold type on their site. Other than that and the too steep seats in the upper levels, nice arena.

I've been there three times since it opened - for McCartney, Buffett, and TSO concerts. Here's some of the lowdown. Forget about driving anywhere near it. Traffic is a nightmare. You will literally sit at green lights because no one can move..

Forget about getting in quickly. The line will wrap around the block, no matter what entrance you choose. A big slow down is there are only a couple metal detectors at each entrance, so you have 10,000 people funneling through two detectors. For TSO, the line was nearly an hour to get inside the arena (that's with tickets already, not trying to buy them). No line markers either, so it's just a crowd. Fortunately, the concert started 45 minutes late since no one had made it in yet.

Once you are inside, it is pretty easy to walk around. There are plenty of restrooms, and a lot of food and drink vendors. If you don't like the beer choices at one, move on. They each sell different beers. This is much better than Arco was.

As for the seats.... no cup holders in the upper level. That was just poor planning. And don't get upper level seats if you have any fear of falling. It is very steep.

Here's my biggest complaint of all: I guess it was an effort to cram as many seats as possible into a small area, but the seats are tiny. I am 6'02", so not freakishly tall. I can not fit my knees and legs inside the seat area. Absolutely can not. I have to sit on the aisle and keep my legs on the stairs. If you are of a wide girth, forget about that too. If you're short and not fat, you'll be fine.

Ok, I've been burnt three times. I won't go back. There is no reason to support a building that so clearly does not care about the guests.

My grandson and I went to the TOOL Concert at the Golden 1 Center. We left after 3 songs because of the Pot smoking. It was so bad that when the lights went out it looked like led Christmas lights were bilking on and off. The group behind us was chain smoking joints and blowing smoke on us. Security did nothing even when ask. I don't understand why it is not legal to smoke a cigarette with in 100 ft of the building but you can smoke all you want inside. It gives Sacramento a bad name. I will never go there again and suggest you don't either. Wasted $200 + parking.

Great arena, total joke trying to get in. Got dropped off @ 7:30 for an 8 PM concert. Didn’t get in the door until 8:10. Some people missed the first couple songs. Completely inexcusable.
