Spent a morning doing a little bit of everything, shopped, eat lunch, rented bikes and tour the American River Parkway.

Spent 3 hours in town. Very clean, nicely done with all the old buildings rejeuvinated. Obviously alot of money and effort put into this. But half the shops are vacant. If you want candy, tee shirts and food ,they have all that, there are a...More

An authentic step back in time to the gold rush days in Sacramento in this preserved, old, downtown complete with old-timey saloons and a steam train that runs regularly along the river. There's great family dining as well as more modest fare and, despite the...More

There are lots of shops and restaurants, with an old west feel to it. Fun way to spend an afternoon.

Nice place to visit if you like history! It was very hot and sunny when I visited... So don't forget to have an ice cream and a bottle of water!

If you want to leisurely walk around with the hustle of panhandlers, then this is the place. The horse drawn bugs add to the ambience and the crowds are manageable. There are lots of stores with an assortment of goods. The candy shops, the dry...More

The Old Town is a pleasant place to stroll. It is not a place where I would spend a lot of time, other than to eat. There is not much to do and most of the restored buildings are shops and restaurants. But it is...More

Not far around 200 yards . Towards the back buy the river walk straight to the end . There's usually a balloon clown for the kids 👍🏽

We are going to stay at La Quinta Inn. I'm wondering if we will be able to walk down to the town.

It's about a 20 min. walk via a Riverside boardwalk. 7 min. drive by car. Walking during the day is pretty safe, but I am not comfortable walking it after dark. Old Sac itself is beautiful and safe at night.
