Overview
More
The Inglenook legacy began in 1879 when Gustave Niebaum, a Finnish sea captain, wine connoisseur and entrepreneur, came to Rutherford to build a wine estate that would rival Europe's finest. When Niebaum's grandnephew, John Daniel, Jr. inherited the chateau and vineyards in the 1930s, Inglenook had already earned international acclaim. Francis and Eleanor Coppola purchased the property in 1975 and have spent forty years reuniting the original vineyards, returning winemaking operations to the chateau, and restoring Inglenook's illustrious heritage with the help of renowned wine consultant Stephane Derenoncourt and Managing Director and Winemaker Philippe Bascaules. In honor of this estate and its historical significance, we have restored the name, Inglenook.

We came here on a recommendation and found the place beautiful. Learning about the history of Inglenook and how Francis Ford Coppola took over was interesting. At the end of the tour we had a nice tasting in an intimate room paired with a cheese...More

This place is sumptuous. You need to promise to buy something -- a glass of wine, a tasting, something -- before they let you go through the gate, but once you do, you are on one of the definitive wine properties in Napa Valley. You're...More

Great house and views... interesting to wander through some of the rooms and the history. We did not do a tasting, just had coffee, though certainly had more character than a lot of the other wineries.

The landscape of this winery is beautiful.. I did the heritage wine tasting and it was amazing. I especially like the historical explanation of how the winery came to be. This was definitely worth the money I paid.

This is the third oldest winery in Napa and is full of history as Francis Ford Coppola revived the dying winery. Wine tour was well planned with a great commentary regarding 135 years of history abridged in 5 minutes. The historic Chateau has been well...More

We had a reservation at 1 pm. Arrived 10 minutes early to find people were already getting their wine tasting. At first I thought we had the time wrong but as the tasting went on I realized though I thought we had booked a private...More

We have had their wines before and decided to visit the vineyard. First, they make you stop at a visitor center for really no apparent reason, unless crowd control. We opted for jus buying our own glass of wine than partaking in the 40 minute...More

Our future son-in-law chose this vineyard for where he proposed to our daughter. Soon after, we surprised them with a small party in a private tasting room. Staff was great and the building itself (built 1875) was fabulous. Lovely grounds and, lest I forget, fabulous...More

I believe the Heritage tour is 18 + simply because it's in the tasting room and wines are served. I noted the the Inglenook Experience tour states ages 12 +. Have a great time!!!
